The King's Head Inn is well situated in the centre of Salisbury right next to the River and near to the Market Place and the Cathedral. Big drawback is that there is NO carpark - you need to use the public carpark which is a 5 minute walk away - £7.40 for the day! Also you need to feed the... More

Small room, but at least we were away from the noise that most other reviewers speak of. Generally the room needed a really good clean. The net curtain thing was filthy as were the windows. The bathroom was not clean and had no towel rail despite the warning sticker telling us that it would be hot to touch! However, there's... More

The kings head at Salisbury si ideal for a lazy weekend as it's a Witherspoon public house with a hotel attached to it so you can have a meal or drink and then go next door to sleep it off. It's right in the middle of lovely historical Salisbury which is a beutifull city and the river runs right through the... I'm a big fan of the Wetherspoon chain and I'm now a big fan of their hotels. They have restored this building beautifully. Rooms are spacious and all the features you would expect. Don't go expecting the Ritz and you will be happy with what you get for what you pay. It's in a nice location by a river and... More

The service was friendly enough whilst in the premises, but we were hugely disappointed overall. The salmon dish was lovely and to order, unfortunately the rump steak ordered well done came to the table medium rare, as it was steak night and cheaper than normal we let it slide without complaint smothering the bloody meat in sauce to compensate. The... More

This was our first Wetherspoons hotel experience and was a good one. Accomodation was good but could have been a bit cleaner, carpet very grotty. Needed a good vacuuming. The location was fantastic, right in the city centre and consequently no on site parking but car parks nearby and free 1800 to 0800. Pay after 1800 and parking paid starts... More

parking difficult but go over the bridge away from hotel and there is on street parking on left from 6pm to 8am, perfect as I was away around 07.45 Hotel reception on the first floor via lift, very warm welcome and efficient check in. Tired and signs of recent water damage on the hall/stair walls, but there where repairs being... More

The service and food has gone downhill. My partner and I are locals and we used to visit often for lunch and drinks. However recently when we've ordered they have brought the wrong food almost every time and also missed half of the dish. When I went to politely ask for the mistake to be corrected and have the rest... More

It took a while for us to find this Weather spoons ,wish we never did. We walked in on a very sticky floor and a very stale smell of beer . We sat down on stained and ripped seats looked around and decided not to risk our health and left.

We stayed here on Sunday and were pleasantly surprised. The reviews warned of noise (not just from the bar at weekends, but noise from the road at other times) - we had room 206 which was a rear room, so no view, but hardly any noise. The room was very big and the bed was 6' which was a nice... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The site of this Wetherspoon pub has been occupied by an inn since the 15th century. By c1520, it was known as the King's Head, and it retained that name until it was rebuilt in the 1880s. The County Hotel was, itself, a change of name some time during the 1880s or 1890s. Before then, it was the Kings Head and Brewery. We have 33 individual bedrooms. All of our rooms are en suite and include tea- and coffee-making facilities, a hair dryer and TV. Free Wi-Fi is available in the bar area. Please be aware that we are a Lloyds No 1 bar so we will be playing music in the pub from Thursday to Saturday nights. Limited quiet rooms are available so please telephone in advance to request one. ... more   less
