We chose The Lazy Cow as it is very central in Salisbury, close to the cathedral and the city within easy walking distance of all Salisbury has to offer. We arrived mid-afternoon but our room was not ready and we were offered a complimentary drink at the bar to compensate. Our room was in the annex across the side yard... More

On arrival we were so pleased to see that the hotel was, as advertised, so close to the cathedral and all other amenties (see photos below). Cannot offer enough plaudits to the staff who create such a happy atmosphere and the food was very creative and well presented. Simply an enjoyable experience. Future visitors will no doubt be invited to... More

Excellent stay in this very unusual but amazing boutique hotel. Individual room, very comfortable with everything you need. Staff friendly and food good. The hotel very is close to all attractions. Would recommend choral evensong at the Cathedral and Mompesson house.Extensive market with local produce on Saturday.

The food and staff were fantastic, the hotel is very sweet and interesting but.. Our room was such a disappointment, unkempt, the mattress thread bare so painful to sleep on, noise from the garden bar kept us up past midnight, peeling wallpaper and other details in need of simple attention and a bathroom in desperate need of a plumber and... Staff all very helpful and choice of food very good, they set themselves a high standard whilst I was there. I think after reading other reviews our room was not one of the better ones but I have stayed in much worse. Their own ale is very good, their steaks good and breakfast was refreshingly different.

Firstly I must say that they have got it spot on at The Lazy Cow, stayed here on route to Devon and we were very impressed. The room was spacious with a large double bed, lovely bathroom and a nice selection of teas. The food was fantastic I recomend the Argentinean steak and the ribs, the puddings are just right... More

We stayed here for 1 night as part of our 4 day trip. The greeting from reception was friendly and welcoming, the room was lovely, very clean, perhaps a little poorly lit - this seems the case in most hotels these days! but the decor was wonderfull, a huge fireplace, lots of modern twists that contrasted well with the classic... Stayed overnight when attending a function at the restaurant. The good: easy to find, good position on the edge of the town centre no car parking, but car parking available at the Whyte Hart hotel just a minutes walk away plush, well equipped room good quality food in the restaurant staff friendly and accommodating The bad: few maintenance issues with... Stunning place to stay, centre of town, and Salisbury is a surprise with a nightlife and interesting buildings and shops by day. Great to cycle to Stonehenge, see the cathedral and wander. Great breakfast (small but quality), staff manage attentiveness without intrustion. Rooms (ours) was amazing - totally styled but restrained. Great inclusion of a coffee pod machine, fantastic bathroom,... More
