The hotel itself is quite dated and I found my bed extremely uncomfortable. I had a twin room and my bed was so uncomfortable I hardly slept a wink. I think I had one of the older rooms on the ground floor and it had no air con, I visited in July and the lack of air con was an... More

We spent a lovely night here in June it was a gorgeous hotel with really friendly staff. Our room was big & bright with air conditioning & the bed super king size, so comfortable! We enjoyed a cream tea on the terrace & our evening meal was outstanding ! I recommend the Cajun salmon. I can't wait to come back!

Room was great - clean, powerful shower, large and provided good quality complimentary hot drinks. Staff remembered us and were very friendly. Breakfast had a variety of choices. The attached restaurant (seafood and steak) was delicious, if a bit on the pricey side. Restaurant staff again were very lovely, compliments to Rhiannon who made us feel very welcome. The attached... We booked this fantastic venue for our wedding. We knew what we wanted and Ali the events co ordinator was amazing. We wanted a low key vintage day with traditional afternoon tea. From the planning stage, the receptionists, restaurant staff, me staying the night before, the whole thing was seemless. The rooms were modern, clean and fresh. Breakfasts looked amazing... More

We stayed here in late May 2015 with another couple. The location of the hotel, just off the main road to London and the free parking were a plus. The cathedral and town center are about a 20 minute walk or a five minute car ride. The staff was friendly and efficient. We had afternoon refreshments in the bar/lounge area... More

Stayed in this hotel for a night in July. Room was pleasant, light and sunny, no view to speak of but that wasn't really an issue because we hadn't planned to be spending time in the hotel. Could do with better fitting curtains to keep the light out after dawn though, the gaps meant I was woken by the sunshine... More

Thank you for the review, we will look at the room you stayed in as all our curtains are blackout curtains and should not let the light in, so thank you for reviewing us and allowing us to fix any problems for future guests. Regards Craig More

We as a group of men have travelled to this hotel each year for the last five years and I suspect my review would be different if our group was smaller. We travel as a party of 24. They always allow us to park our mini buses and I suspect at some cost as they take up a lot of... More

The hotel was about 750m to the city centre and at least 500 m to the nearest restaurant. The restaurant charged prices higher than those in the centre of town. The mattress was soft and old and every time my partner rolled over I would wake up as well. I think there are probably better options closer to the centre... More

Thank you for the review, our restaurant does only serve quality produce and all our steaks are dry aged for 30 days plus, which unfortunately does make us more expensive than Ask or Pizza express, but you can eat a main course for £11.50 so hopefully we have a choice for all pocket sizes. You can of course walk into... More

The room was large and comfortable with air conditioning. We also had dinner in the restaurant and had cajun chicken and duo meat. Both the meals were average and overpriced. Breakfast menu was confusing not mentioning that the buffet was included in the room price. We were under the impression that we had to buy either a full English breakfast... More

A reasonable walk into the centre, the hotel has lovely bar and adjoining summer room. The breakfast room was well organised, breakfast excellent. First executive room allocated to us was room 112 so very dark and small, not a nice room. I mentioned to receptionist who allocated us another executive room which was on 3rd floor , bigger and brighter,... More
