Stayed 1 night at the Byways with 3 colleagues for a conference. It is certainly more reasonably priced than some of the other accomodation in Salisbury and was absolutely fine for a short stay. The hotel and rooms were very clean and quiet. Yes, it could do with a lick of paint and some updating but then it may loose... more

Simple but adequate rooms, with friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast but non availability of evening meals, although plenty of good food places in the area guest house is close to city centre but on a hill, difficult for the elderly or disabled. we had a room with disabled facilities, but the disabled ramp outside was constantly blocked off by some german tourists car,so we... more

I have just come back from a lovely weekend in Salisbury. Apart from the weather everything was fantastic. I stayed at Byways , a lovely house just by the centre. The owner Barbara was very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and quiet. Breakfast was great and I particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit salad every morning. more

I spent one night at Byways house, and had a relatively decent stay. When I first arrived, I wasn't welcomed as warmly as I had been at my prior accommodations. The room was small but not to a fault, and breakfast was both varied and tasty. Internet access was a nice perk, and the location was quite accessible from the... more

Tricky to find but a great spot, close to town. My family stayed here for one night in July 2006 - family room was reasonably priced at 100 pounds and clean and comfortable. Staff were accommodating but not overly friendly on our arrival (except for the breakfast waitress - she's wonderful). Internet availability was a plus (you have to pay... more

Don't let her put you in the attic room!! We stayed there in the middle of a heat wave. Although there were empty rooms in the cooler downstairs, she was reserving them for her "regulars" and she stuck us in the dreaded cramped attic! My wife and I had a very miserable experience there. It was so hot I could... more

After thoroughly researching properties in Salisbury I found Byways Hotel, i was expecting to pay a little less but didnt mind as the hotel was centrally located within 20mins walk from train station and 5min walk to town. Byways is a lovely B&B run by a english/french family. Unfortunately my single bedroom was located opposite the kitchen so my room... more

The Byways houes was exactly what we were looking for. It was nicely located, easy to get to downtown and the cathedral. The breakfast was excellent and the staff was very friendly. Room was simple but nice. The internet access was a plus. Don't miss Stonehenge. more

The Byways House is very convenient to walking into the town center for dinner or to Salisbury Cathedral. The B&B itself is fairly large, and came under new ownership in August, 2005 (so the earlier review may no longer apply). The house itself is a bit older looking / maintained than other B&Bs we've stayed at. The floors were creaky,... more

My partner and I spent the weekend here in October 2004 to celebrate our 5th anniversary. We had booked a romantic 4 poster room. Upon arrival in our room we found we were at the very top of the house in what seemed to be a converted attic, thereby making the room very small. There were no pictures on the... more
