Booked this hotel for a three night city break with a friend. Our room, an executive twin, was spacious and overlooked the gardens and river- very picturesque. As part of the package, we had free chocolates and a bottle of prosecco, which was an added bonus! It was less than a 10 minute walk through Cathedral Close into the city... More

Stayed for three nights and saw the same limited menu for all meals on each night. The food was just reasonable and served in good time by a young staff. .The hotel is starting to look tired and needs some TLC. The outdoor terrace/lounge is centered by the river and is pleasant.

Have to say this is a great hotel, within walking distance of Salisbury Cathedral and town centre. We travel with a 2 year old and the Legacy's Cardinal Suite is just perfect for our needs. The staff always make us so welcome and never complain about our bouncing 2 year old and her never ending "what you doing?" questioning of... More

We stayed here for two nights, we had only planned to spend one night, but it was so nice we stayed a second night. The hotel is quaint and old ,dating back to the 16th century. The receptionist was an excellent 'front of house'person. She was informative , very helpful, delightful and an asset to the hotel. The restaurant faced the... More

Really limited parking due to the hotels emphasis on wedding parties; dirty rooms, uncomfortable cheap beds, brown rather shabby 1980's decor, poor service and very unhelpful and somewhat belligerent management, with an eye for cash rather than good service. Nice surroundings but that doesn't justify the prices they charge in our opinion...

This hotel is ideally suited for a visit to Salisbury. There was ample free parking (early August) and the location is perfect - a five minute stroll to the Cathedral and/or museums and National Trust property - and a further 200 yard stroll to the High Street. There is a large terrace abutting the river where you can drink and/or... More

We had a wondeful stay at the Rose and Crown for our time in Salisbury. The location was just far enough out of the town centre on the Nadder River to be both quiet and beautifully picturesque. The walk into town over the bridge, along Devaux Place, and through the cathedral yard was brilliant and relaxing. The room was a... More

This was my first visit to Salisbury, my husband originates from a small village close by, we visited friends and stayed with them for a couple of days then stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, as I wanted to see where my husbands was brought up, he moved away from the area 40 years ago. The carpark was very... More

We had a family private party at this hotel on Saturday and enjoyed it very much. The service was excellent and the staff went out of their way to make the occasion special, even organising extra decorations when told what the occasion was. Thank you the Rose and Crown....it made it a lovely memory for us.

Again I wish TA had halves. I'd have given a 3.5 - but had to give a 3. But a lovely spot. Front desk very good. Excellent location - near the village. Easy walking to everything. A tad expensive I felt - but lovely large room and bathroom. You almost need a map to get to the room though. Comfortable... More
