Single room was booked at short notice and it was a small single. Unfortunately it was in the main building at the bottom of the stairs which meant that it wasn't the quietest place to rest a head. The door didn't stop much of the noise and the bathroom fan in my room and the room above were v noisy... More

Stayed here for two weeks in two different single rooms( weekdays only) for work on a tight budget. I needed somewhere with parking, wifi, close to Salisbury, en-suite, clean comfortable room/bed, good prompt breakfast, and I'm pleased to say it had all those. But in general, the rooms were a bit shabby, especially the bathroom, also some rooms are tiny.... More

This was my first visit since 2012 (see review passim) and my third stay overall. I was happy to be in the 'annexe' which is slightly separate from the main building and hence less busy - also only two rooms there. In my comments of 2012 I made a few light-hearted 'suggestions' but there's absolutely no need this time. It... More

As with others I found the lady receptionist friendly on arrival but the male one lacking any interest in our satisfaction. We simply got a credit card receipt and "Goodbye." No formal receipt offered. Our room was clean but the ensuite was tiny. It had no mirror light, the toiletry shelf was missing and it looked like a wardrobe had... More

Stayed in a ground floor twin room that was small and rather cramped. Beds were foot to foot as there wasn't room for them to lie parallel. They were comfy enough though and good clean bathroom facilities. But oh dear.. Victoria Lodge is an old building with no sound proofing and was awakened at 5am from the room above.. walking... More

Stayed for one night. We were greeted by the owner and staff with a lot of friendly chatter and suggestions. Our room was charming and small with the old world decor, shower was pleasant and had great water pressure and roomy, coffee and tea, no air conditioning, small t.v. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. We... More

Stayed in single room for 2 nights . Room very small but quite adequate with excellent shower , tea making facilities and free wi-fi . Found room to be clean and comfortable . Accomodated me for late arrival / check in . Staff friendly and helpful . Really enjoyed the breakfast . It is around a 15-20 minute brisk walk... More

The woman at the reception was very pleasant, but our room was right on the road, which is a main road with heavy traffic. The room was small, basic, and could have used some maintenance, light shade missing. The breakfast was good, full English breakfast, but one morning we waited about a half an hour to be served. It is... More

This place is very unpleasant. Decor stuck in 1970s. No shampoo, a note to say guests may 'request' a hair dryer, and toiletries may be purchased from Reception. The towel in the bathroom was so ragged I wouldn't even use it on my dog. Avoid if possible.

We were very happy with our three night stay here and found the B&B ideally located for the city centre, the free parking was a bonus. Our twin room was very clean and made up each day and there were ample supplies of tea and coffee etc. The beds were a little soft and although the room was well equipped,... More
