Everything you need right on the city centre. Decided to camp rather than stay in the hostel. Good location , usual helpful staff - didn't eat here as the city facilities are so close. Good point to start Clarendon Way.

This should be a showcase Y.H.A. place to stay, alas it has been up for sale for 2 years. The large building is located VERY close to the city centre, which in turn is one of the country's best cathedral citys. Quite why the Y.H.A. is selling this is beyond belief ......perhaps it needs money spending on it to upgrade... More

We are so glad that you have enjoyed your stay with us. The YHA is selling the building as it feels that it is no longer fit for purpose in the current climate, although it is so well loved by our guests. You will still be able to book up until our close date of 30th September 2015, so why... More

Clean, comfortable hostel with friendly staff. Excellent location for the city centre. Good car park and secure bike shed. Would definitely use again...book early for the summer solstice at Stonehenge.

Located in an historical and cozy building, I had a really pleasant stay. Positive things: lovely property and fantastic garden, cleanliness, nice common areas and not so far from the train station and the bus stop for Old Sarum and Stonehenge, as well as to the main attractions (city center, Salisbury Cathedral) that can be all easily reached by foot.... Stayed here with my two children in a family room (Room 9, a double bed with a single bunk above). Room was clean, shower rooms and toilets also clean. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was tasty, my children are fussy eaters and they liked it so must be good. Lovely garden with a huge Cedar tree, my children spent... More

As others have mentioned it could do with a refurbishment. However, this hostel has lots going for it. Value for money – I couldn’t afford B&B accommodation in the city. There is so much to see and do in the area. I used the local Red bus network to get around the sites further afield, such as Stonehenge and Devizes.... More

I can't give this property a higher rating as it really does need an update, and i've stayed in much better (recently renovated) YHAs for less. The property is lovely, and set in a fantastic garden (I love the tree), and the staff (as always at YHAs) were brilliant. The bedroom was basic (my friends stayed in the lodge at... More

YHA Salisbury is a older property and it is well located to the cathedral and the medieval town. The property has a big garden with a huge tree in the centre. I walked to the cathedral and around town. This hostel could use a fresh coat of paint, but it was still good enough. The staff was good and I... More

I stayed three nights to attend a cookery programme and visit Stonehenge. It was a good base for both. About 15-20 minute walk to train station. Reception was friendly, but not available all day. The place is, in general, very run down. The bathrooms were adequate but far from the standards of the recently updated YHA properties. The TV room,... More

Thank you for your feedback At the end of April 2015 we are refurbishing some toilets and showers in the main building and this should address some of your comments. We are installing two larger single rooms in the Lodge behind the main house before the summer 2015. More

The hostel is a lovely old house with a veranda running around it & a massive Cedar tree. There's a well equipped members' kitchen, big dining room, & a lots of sofas in the lounge. You'll need to charge phones' etc in the lounge. The staff are friendly. I had a very amusing natter with Tristan one morning while he... More

Thank you for your positive feedback. It is indeed a lovely old house built around 1820 and so is a living antique. We hope to see you again before too long More
