In a perfect spot for stone spotting. And what a wonderful house overflowing with interesting and antique objects. Breakfast was good, even if, like us, you are carnivores! Andrew was attentive and helpful. What more could you want.

Andrew & his wife were delightful hosts ..
Avebury itself swirled with breathtaking ambience & that something magical..
Finally, thanks to Paul my yum yum bubblegum man for making...

We chose to stay here mostly for the wonderful location (actually within the stones at Avebury) but also because of the excellent reviews and the vegetarian breakfast.
The Lodge was everything we hoped for and more with wonderful uniquely furbished rooms and excellent friendly service from Andrew and his wife. And breakfast with a view of the stones of Avebury...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Lodge, Avebury last year in June 2011. Our host, Andrew, was friendly and helpful. We took up the offer of the extra payment to Andrew to show us around Silbury Hill, Kennet Long Barrow and more -- and this was really value for money. Andrew has a sound knowledge of the history of...

Andrew is an excellent host - very friendly, knows his village and its stones well. Our family of five stayed two nights, using Avebury as a base for exploring nearby Bath and Stonehenge as well as enjoying our private time with the stones of Avebury in the evenings. We had two rooms, and they were great - perfect views out...

We recently stayed for 3 nights in this very pleasent and interesting accomodation. The Lodge hosts were extremely helpful and thoughtful during our stay, providing very useful information on Avebury and other interesting local sites. Their breakfasts in the morning were excelent and something to look forward to. The accomodation and its historical decor, together with the views across the...

We stayed for 2 nights at the Lodge, and having read the variety of comments on Trip Advisor, I had an open mind. This is very much a "Stay in our home" rather than a contrived guest experience. It was an opportunity to stay in a period property, suitably furnished, with views from each room of the stones, and the...

It is very nice to take in the view of the stone circles from the bedroom window of the historic lodge. It's handy having a base right in the middle of the historic sites (there's lots more to Avebury than the stone circles).

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Lodge and I would recommend it as a first class B&B. An excellent host and a refreshing break from the clinical lines of a Travel Tavern, there is no concierge but the owner will gladly help you with the local area, indeed anything you might need during your stay.
The rooms...

Thank you for saying such nice things! At the end of the day, The Lodge has offered B&B for almost 10 years and 2011 has proved itself to be our busiest year yet! From mid Feb. to mid Sept. were almost fully booked, working 7 days a week and catering for people from all over the World. Occasionally guests arrive...
