Rooms were clean, tidy and a reasonable size, but unfortunately the beds are typical of De Vere which are cheap and uncomfortable. The hotel restaurant charges 5 star prices, but the food is really not 5 star. If you stay here then consider eating out to avoid disappointment. Having read the previous review after I booked we arrived in trepidation at what we might expect. However we were pleasantly surprised, friendly staff, excellent communal areas, clean bedroom, food was spot on, golf and spa provided good value, bill was corrrect except for the papers when there was a communication mix up. Hotel in lovely setting, Golf course excellent. Claret Jug restaurant very nice, Staff in there excellent and yes they don't get the 10% gratutity so don't pay it and tip them direct. Hotel is very grand and it has a lovely reception area. The staff were very helpful. Used the spa facilities and they were excellent.
