I have been to this hotel several times and have experience of weddings, dining and the hotel rooms. My first and most important tip would be to make sure you get one of the newly refurbished rooms. what can i say we had a great stay,the food was out of this world and the service was excellent,breakfast was a little slow but the resturant was very busy,so we understood why.As for the room it was very clean with french doors to open and sit outside by the lake.We had a great stay and will be coming back... more

Terrible tv reception, complained, nothing happened. No iron in room, requested, after two requests eventually turned up. To be quite honest I very rarely complain about anything, however it has to be said that this Hotel was a mojor disappointment after viewing the images on the internet i had high expectations. Found the new entrance impossible to negotiate with a wheelchair. Disabled toilet in main area is inaccessible with a towel rail instead of grab rails. Staff unaware that steps made the lodges no go areas for wheelchairs. Food on the first night was tough , embarassing as we had guests but meals on other nights were good, however the buffet... more

This has to be the most disappointed I have ever been in a hotel! The reception area looks great and the restaurant is nice, but the quality of the room was awful. We stayed at the Chevin Country Park Hotel and Spa after finding it on the Easy Breaks website. It's a good base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales, York, Otley, Harrogate, Leeds, etc. The village of Esholt, where Emmerdale was filmed for about 20 years, is only a few miles away and worth a visit for a pint in the Woolpack.... more
