If you are looking for a confortable temporary place to stay, near the University of Leeds, Glengarth is the perfect option. Good internet, good bed, good room service and good breakfast for a good price. The owners are really gentle. They lent me adapters for my eletronic devices as well as their telephone to order some food at night. I... More

The bad bits: The room was very basic. The TV didn't work. The wifi was very intermittent. The fried breakfast - very hard egg and horrible sausage. When the front door opened and closed the slam seemed to shake the whole room. Very loud bleeper on pedestrian crossing outside which became somewhat annoying even with window shut. The good bits:... Great location, near University of Leeds. Very friendly service. I stayed at a single en-suite room and it was lovely. The room was clean with free tea and coffee. The shower was clean and hot. They serve Continental or English breakfast and I had the English breakfast - bacon, egg, beans, 2 x toast & sausage, fabulous! I would definitely... More

We stayed here just for 1 night in the family room. It was clean, the staff were attentive and helpful, the breakfast was great. The only complaint would be that we had to time our showers to be out of sync with the other guests, as at times the hot water just wasn't under enough pressure to make it to... More

My usual accommodation in Leeds (Ibis budget) was unavailable so I booked the Avalon guest house. When i arrived was told I was staying at their sister property up the road. The Glengarth room I stayed in was a single with a sink. I had to share a toilet and shower. It reminded me of student digs I stayed in... More

We stayed in the Family Room here for one night. Basic but clean & warm. The family that run it are friendly & helpful. The breakfast was lovely. About 20 mins walk from Leeds center, or about £5 in taxi. At £65 for 3 adults for one night, including breakfast, I think this is great value. We would stay here... More

At 00.33 I should really be sleeping but I am having to sit here to write this. I'm hoping that by putting this review out there, someone else wont have to go through what I went through. I checked into this rat-hole the previous night. I was happy to have a place a lay my head having realised that most... More

I have just stayed here with a colleague for 2 nights whilst we attended a conference on the university campus. Compared to the city centre hotels this was cheaper and I was able to leave my car on the premises for free whilst we we there and even until the evening we left despite having checked out in the morning....
