Booked a very competitive deal for a Friday night while visiting our grand daughter at Leeds University. In view of the price we didn't expect a canal view room but got it anyway which was a nice surprise. Staff were lovely and friendly and we were greeted on arrival by a complimentary glass of wine which added to the experience.... More

stayed at 42 on a friend's recommendation and am very glad to have done so. This is a real "boutique" style hotel in a quirky converted mill building by the River Aire. Do ask for a river view room as it is worth it. The room was comfortable, large and full of light with splendidly quirky architectural features. All the... More

Stayed on a Sunday night after a meal out in Leeds . A much needed rest away from the kids. We had a 3rd floor room that had a river view. It was very nice and quite individual . There was no noise from outside. The staff where helpful when booking and then checking in. They where very honest in... More

Am now an expert of hotels in Leeds and have been underwhelmed by those at which I've stayed. With apologies they have been souless/functional (Doubletree which also has no bath), tired (Marriott, Queens) and noisy (Malmaison). Had tried to get into The Calls on a number of occasions but without success so pleased to be able to book a midweek... More

There are no words to describe how amazing the service here is. On top of this the hotel is beautiful and the rooms are absolutely lovely with great bathrooms. If you're looking for a romantic weekend or just want to stay somewhere that feels like a hotel should (a little taste of luxury) then this is the place for you.... More

Really great hotel in a brilliant location. The room I stayed in didn't have a river view but was impressive, well presented, stylish and clean. Didn't eat there as such, but had room service late in the evening, which was delivered quickly and the food was really nice. Staff were good, free wifi good, glass of wine on checking in... More

Just a one-night stay as a Birthday surprise, travelling as a couple. We had a special offer rate or £109, which is probably about the right price-point. Fantastic reception area, very smart & the offer of a complementary glass of wine at check in is a really nice touch; Little things like that do make a difference. Our room was... More

We stayed here last night for Valentine's Day. On arrival we were warmly greeted at reception which was swift and efficient. The decor in the reception area is very "boutique-esque" and is in excellent condition however the hallways to our room looked a little warn and tired. The carpets were dirty and walls were marked. Our room was excellent and... More

Lovely room, well furnished and supplied. Had only been set up for single occupancy, but this was quickly sorted. Room lovely and warm during a pretty cold stay. Breakfast excellent if a little pricey.

Staff were pleasant enough. The room was clean but the furniture was strangely battered and mismatched. Bed was lumpy and the pillows had seen better days. I would say a refurbishment is in order. Carpet was stained but the room was very clean. Bathroom large and spotless. Major downside for me was the terrible internet service provided. Varied between non... More
