I have stayed at the Old Registry on a few occasions and have always had a wonderful, relaxing break. The hosts are more than helpful and it is a 'home from home' with the very best breakfast that I have ever had.... Whenever I need a break from city life then this is definitely the place to go to wind... more

We stayed three nights at the Old Registry and enjoyed every minute. Right from the start we felt at home - Paul helped us with the luggage and showed us the parking, which is only half a minute from the Old Registry. We stayed at the Secret Garden Room, which is very cosy and has a nice view. Breakfast was... more

A very warm and friendly welcome upon arrival. The room was very clean and spacious and the view over the park and surrounding countryside was Briliant. The "Yorkshire " breakfast is a must. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Will be calling back again whenever the chance arises more

Just returned from a two nights stay at this wonderful B+B. On arriving was greeted by Paul who carried my bags to the first floor. The room was lovely. It and the bathroom were both very clean, the nice white fluffy towels I liked. Plenty of coffee, tea and chocolate drinks on the lovely tray. A very good selection at breakfast. Absolutely wonderful B&B. Situated centrally on Main Street (although right at the bottom). the Old Registry is a beautifully decorated, cosy and homely B&B. The rooms were spotlessly clean, stylishly decorated with their own individual theme, gorgeous bathrooms and the feel of a small boutique hotel. The attention to detail in each room was noticeable - an example of the... more

We were looking for somewhere comfortable and quiet; this is so much more. The accomodation and food are excellent, with the bonus that everything is locally sourced and fairtrade where possible. The staff are really friendly too. more

Looked lovely and quaint on the website, I first thought it was expensive at £95 per nght, but we will go back without a doubt. The room and bathroom were spotless, there were little extras such as a hot water bottle, and a book in the bedside table which we liked. The breakfasts were superb, huge choice, all locally sourced.... more

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home. The guest house was clean, the rooms were comfy and the food excellent. Paul and the staff were always at hand but never in the way and always helpful with local knowledge. The location was perfect for local sightseeing and central to the cobbled streets where there are... more
