My (new) husband and I stayed here for two nights after our wedding, choosing Ponden House for its tranquility and good walks. At the time (March) the moors were atmospheric, misty and quiet, and we were the only people staying at the house. Brenda's house is beautiful, cosy and full of stunning art, interesting books, and the rooms are beautifully... More

The rooms are almost heavenly after a long day on the Pennine Way! Nice wooden floors and simply but rustically and elegantly laid out rooms, with even a cool rooftop window above one of the beds. The walls are artfully decorated with paintings and portraits, and the sitting room is a cosy place to have tea which was much welcome... More

I and two friends had a wonderful time recently in Ponden House. Brenda 's home really feels as though you've just walked into a friend's house for the weekend and her cooking cannot be too highly recommended. The proximity of the moors and Haworth make this a great place to stay - plenty to do and see. Even a bracing... More

We had a great time staying here! We were greeted with tea/coffee and pancakes, which we really appreciated after 7 hours of walking on the Pennine Way in poor conditions. We also got a 3 course dinner later, which was delicious, as was the extensive breakfast the next morning. The packed lunch was sumptious, we had to leave some of... More

This is a real gem to stumble across on the Pennine Way. The rooms have individual character - I especially love the 'blue room - and the whole place oozes rustic charm and artistic style, with original David Hockney pieces dotted around the place; and with underfloor heating the place is cosy at any time of the year. The hot... More

Just spent three nights with friends in the lovely Ponden Guest House. Enjoyed every minute visiting Salts Mill, Media museum and a great curry at Mumtaz in Bradford. Walked up to Top Withens and browsed around Haworth. Plenty to do even in February. Then we have the delights of Brenda's cooking!! Fantastic breakfasts and evening meal on Sunday as well... More

My good friend Linda and I have recently enjoyed another blissful escape to Ponden House, situated right in the middle of the wild and wonderful moorland at Stanbury, near Haworth (Bronte Country) Ponden House is the perfect place to slow down and unwind... Brenda Taylor has created a very special, warm, creative and tranquil guest house which is further complimented... More

It is tucked away. The potholed road requires careful negotiation before going up the hill to Brenda's place. The elevated position affords lovely views over sheep filled fields and Ponden reservoir. No TV here but rather peace and quiet, with the faint sound of the radio coming from the kitchen. The house itself is full of character with a square... More

Ponden Guest House is a lovely, peaceful, creatively decorated place for a romantic walking weekend in Wuthering Heights...or somewhere to recuperate from walking the Pennine Way! A wonderful place to stay. Peaceful, home from home, completely relaxing. Ponden is perfectly located for walking the Pennine Way and the Bronte Way. We had a super five nights. Brenda's breakfasts are a great start to the day and the atmosphere is very relaxing - in fact we could have sat chatting to other guests for hours. We walked... More
