A very pleasant experience. Amazingly good food. Charming, comfortable rooms. Lovely scenic setting. Bast attraction locally is the Downland and Weald Open Air Museum more

Stayed at West Stoke House with my husband, his brother and wife and my mother-in-law and father-in-law, to celebrate my father-in-law's 70th birthday. It was the perfect venue to celebrate as a group. Fabulous food, excellent service (without being over the top or stuffy), gorgeous rooms with enormous beds and lovely touches such as fresh flowers, L'Occitaine toiletries, large flat... more

We stayed here for the weekend of our wedding (although didn't get married here - and obviously hubby wasn't there the night before the wedding) and I cannot recommend the hotel highly enough. Traditionally beautiful English chic, with a touch of sophistication that wouldn't be out of place in some of the big European cities, this is a very classy... more

We stayed for two midweek nights in January and fell in love with the place. The food is spectacular and Michelin-starred. The rooms are gorgeous (I would recommend Jean's Attic with its enormous bath). The gardens are beautiful. And best of all there is Richard and the rest of the staff. He makes you feel like a friend and is... more

We booked into this hotel as it also happened to be the venue of choice for my mother and father's 50th wedding anniversary last November. This beautiful house is set in acres of well-manicured gardens, overlooking lots of lovely Downs countryside and is just 15 or so minutes away from the lovely city of Chichester. They only have 8 rooms... more

We had a family party for 50 at WSH over the August Bank Holiday. We had a fabulous time and could fault neither the staff nor the food/accommodation. In the run-up to the event the husband and wife events team of Michelle and Richard were just brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble and 'late in the day' changes to numbers,... more

We stayed at West Stoke House in 2004 and absolutely loved it. However, we returned over Easter and were dissapointed. We stayed in the French Grey room and noticed that the room was showing signs of wear and tear (carpet lifting in corners, light switch wonky and showing a hole around the fitting). The service was very friendly, but slow... more

Although we didn't actually get married here, we stayed for the weekend of our wedding - obviously sans husband the night before the big day. My friends and I took up most of the rooms and the hotel were very understanding with any changes that I had to make to our booking due to scatty friends! On the Friday night... more

My husband and I got married here at the beginning of November and I cannot recommend West Stoke highly enough - the stunning setting, classic yet oh-so-cool contemporary interior, the outstanding food and not to mention the organisational skills of Richard and the rest of the events team. The whole thing was perfect. Stayed in French Grey which was absolutely... more

This is such a lovely place I alsmost don't want to tell anyone about it! West Stoke House is a very charming restaurant with rooms just outside Chichister. We stayed for just one night in the Brown room. An absolutely enormous room with a very, very comfortable bed overlooking the garden. Dinner took us completely by surprise. I read the... more
