Having just spent 3 nights at the Old Store House on a walking holiday I cannot recommend it highly enough. A warm, friendly welcome; superbly comfortable, clean rooms with fresh milk for tea, a magnifying mirror, plenty of hot water and good heating. Breakfasts were outstanding with beautifully cooked fresh, local ingredients. The hosts made us very welcome with tea... More

All aspects of our one night stay here exceeded our expectations. Our room was spotless, comfortable and equipped in a very thoughtful and considerate way. Throughout the property and our stay it was the little touches that sets this Guest House above the crowd. Breakfast was excellent and served in a lovely cheerful room with fresh local produce, home baked... More

We stayed here for only one night but we will most definitely be back for another stay soon. The room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. On arrival the owner brought us afternoon tea in their delightful garden. Breakfast was second to none with all home made or local produce. The busy rural road alongside the property didn't bother us... More

Our stay started with a warm personal welcome from great hosts. This is everything you would wish for from a B&B (and more). Everything is quality (and comfortable) from the bedroom furniture;decor;bed linen;shower;etc' etc'. We stayed in the top floor double room which overlooked the road and yes there was some late night/early morning traffic noise if the double glazing/window was... More

We have been coming here for a few years now and our stay is always a delight. The rooms are beautifully done out and it is impossible to fault the comfort and cleanliness. The breakfast menu is varied with locally sourced ingredients and jams and bread are home made. Across the road is a marvellous pub which offers good food... More

I stayed for one night, midweek in a single room for business. I was greeted in a friendly manner and told the usual sort of things; keys, where I could go for dinner, breakfast times etc. I told the chap who greeted me that I was going to be on my way to work by the time breakfast was being... We found this B&B very easily, its not completely off the beaten track. When we arrived we were greeted by the owner who showed us to a very pleasant, spotless room and were invited to take tea in the guest lounge. This was very welcoming after a long day and we were also given some lovely, fresh homemade cake. The... More

A group of us stayed here for a long weekend while visiting Portsmouth, The place is better then excellent, all the rooms are to a very high standard, and the one thing ALL of us ladies liked was the fact that there was a hair dryer next to a mirror, something that is sometimes missing in 5 star hotels. We... More

Thank you for your review and your positive comments. However, I am sorry that you seem to be, on the whole, disappointed with your stay. I would like to address some of the points that you make. I served you afternoon tea when you arrived, with my home-made date and walnut cake. Sometimes I bake scones, sometimes cake, sometimes cookies,... More
