This country house hotel is situated in a beautiful location and next door is a country pub serving good food and wine. We had a very enjoyable meal at the pub. The hosts are fantastic and really put themselves out to ensure one's stay is enjoyable and everything is to order. The room we stayed in was spacious, very clean... more

My husband and I were attending a family lunch party and decided to book the Woodstock House for one night. The owners were very friendly and obviously keen that their guests should enjoy their stay. As a previous reviewer wrote, we too ate at the local pub The Fox Goes Free and also found the service poor. I also had... more

I have just returned from a press trip to Poland. I stayed in a hotel where the bed felt as if it were the secondary potato store; the windows were two inches smaller than their frames and the raw materials for the food appeared to be courtesy of Professor Quatermass prepared under the guidance of the Chuckle Brothers. The Woodstock... more

The trouble with writing a good review for a hotel is that when you want to go back it is fully booked. However this hotel deserves the highest praise. It is a real rustic, home from home, where service really is king in a village so quiet that you rarely see a car. The hosts are excellent from the off,... more

We had a lovely stay here, the owners were very welcoming and will go out of their way to help you with anything you may need. The room was spacious, but cosy, and clean. Breakfast was plentiful and well cooked. The food at the fox goes free pub next door was excellent and worth a visit. more

We needed a place to stay after visiting Portsmouth and on our way to Dover. The location of the Woodstock House was perfect, and the surrounding beautiful! Do not miss the Fox Goes Free pub next door - excellent food. We stayed in the Goodwood Suite though we did not use the annex. Very cozy, comfy bed. Delicious full breakfast... more

We stayed at this great little hotel while visiting family in the area. We got the Goodwood suite, this has a little annex that was just big enough to house our two daughters, 5 and 3 years. We stayed for 4 days. Overall we enjoyed the stay, service was great, atmosphere was relaxed. The owners were friendly and good with... more

As a busy travel writer I decided to get some rest by booking into the Woodstock House, it is in the heart of the South Downs and I didn’t expect much to write about. It soon became clear that this was an exceptional establishment. Sandra and Nick greeted me on my arrival and Saturday evening’s dinner was exceptional. The decor... more

We have just returned from the Woodstock and I would heartily agree with the review below. The place is excellent, with a very happy and peaceful atmosphere, and is scrupulously clean. Our room (12) had a lovely big bathroom attached. There is ample parking. When asking for the Racing Post newspaper on check in, the owner (Nick) immediately asked if... more

We enjoyed a wonderful weekend at Woodstock, the hotel was spotless and our room was of a very high stndard. Breakfast was hearty and were lucky enough to stay on a night when the resturant was open. The choice was limited but we knew that prior to our arrival but the food was excellent and the service supreme. The hosts... more
