The owner of this hotel has clearly lost interest in being in the tourism business - if in fact she ever had any interest in it. How this establishment can be worthy of a four star rating from VisitEngland beats me. To say that her 'welcome' was perfunctory would be understating the case - she wasn't far off being completely... More

My husband had booked a two night stay for our 25th anniversary, he clearly did not read all the reviews before booking. On arrival the owner who did not even bother to introduce herself showed us to The Cottage this is a small building that's stands in the car park and the best room in the Hotel , on entry i... Charlton is a very pretty West Sussex village and the Woodstock House Hotel could offer wonderful accommodation....but sadly at the moment it really doesn't. As guests we felt as if we were imposing on the owner - our 'welcome' was far from friendly and the whole place looked dated and sadly neglected. The owner really didn't seem to have her... More

We stayed at Woodstock House with four friends for three nights last week. Woodstock House is in the South Downs National Park, and we walked every day. It was great. we had a lovely room, well worth the room rate. Breakfast was spot on and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Will be going back, hopefully over Easter.

Great location for Chichester, Goodwood and the surrounding area. Clean and comfortable with the added bonus of a guest lounge and log fire. Very nice breakfast. B&B in the area is pretty much a similar price range so with the lounge is a bonus

Great location and pretty building in pretty village. Sadly the room was rather tired, peeling wall paper and the bathroom was even more than tired. Breakfast average. Plastic orange juice and prefab sliced bread.

The welcome was more business-like than friendly, although the owner did place some shopping in a fridge for us overnight. We were asked to pay on arrival because the owner would not be there in the morning however there was a chef coming to prepare breakfast so we "could look forward to a wnderful breakfast" We had asked for the... Friendly welcome and a decent sized room (Goodwood Suite) with comfortable bed, good crisp bed linen comfortable pillows and lashings of hot water for bath. Reasonable hospitality tray, good TV reception, working hairdryer, but only four hangers in the wardrobe which was a bit limiting. Delicious breakfast and a great location - nice little village with excellent pub/restaurant (The Fox... More

You couldn't ask for more. Service was friendly, the hotel is well situated, the breakfast was tasty and the room was pleasantly decorated and spacious. I'm not sure why there are negative comments against this hotel. It's a wonderful place where they take every care to ensure your needs are met: Paracetamol on request, maps of the area, front door... More
