What a shame that this hotel is so different from its brochure and website. These mislead the reader into expecting a rarefied country house experience. This is sadly far from the truth. Although situated on the estate of Goodwood House, nearly all the bedrooms and public rooms overlook either the road, the car park (enormous) or internal courtyards. One gets... more

Again we are sorry that we failed to meet the reasonable expectations of our guests but we are comfortable that these events were simply a lapse in our normal high standards which recent reports of TripAdvisor would support.

We went here for my parents' Golden Wedding Anniversary and the lack of attention to detail, proper service and style was remarkable. Our fault for choosing it but the hotel's fault for being consistently unprepared to sort out problems, or make our stay really memorable and special, or serve good food. The rooms are charmless the whole place feels like... more

Very sorry to read of this guests disappointment, I refer to my response to the previous comment. Judging by the smiles and thank you's on departure we really thought that this matter was closed. This party were financially compensated and actually gave two members of staff a standing ovation for their service. Naturally we are disappointed by these events but...

This hotel is awful. The standard rooms are more akin to a Travelodge, while the Exclusive ones are a little better, and the three more luxurious Character rooms are located above the bar, and so can be very noisy. But the service is so awful it became a comedy of errors... We went to celebrate my parents' Golden Wedding Anniversary.... more

I was sorry to read this review, my team worked incredibly hard to recover the situation and thought they had done so and I think it extremely unfair to name a member of the team who well well beyond the call of duty to address the guests issues. Regarding the Goodwood Bar and Grill it was fully booked that evening...

The room I got was about as good as you can get for under a hundred quid a night (Laterooms), and had a mini-bar, lots of drink sachets and smellies, and wonderful pillows. Staff were brilliant, breakfast great, and the sauna well worth a visit - a definite four star hotel. Only downside was them charging £15 for wi-fi, a... more

We stayed for 2 nights last week on B&B basis and because I booked the day before and the hotel was quiet over the 2 days we were upgraded to an Exclusive Room which was bigger than a Standard and had more mod cons (mini bar, etc). Reception staff on check in were very pleasant and helpful and we were... more

My husband and I celebrated our Coral Wedding Anniversary here and the staff couldn't have been nicer. We had chocs and a card put in our room on arrival with Happy Anniversary piped in chocolate on the plate. Everywhere we went we were congratulated and after our evening meal we had a plate of choc dipped fruits and a piped... more

All the staff were helpful, and pleasant. There were lots of little touches that smoothed things allong for us. For example my wife came to lunch later than my children and I. We asked the waiter what could be done quickly; and a good (lots of salmon) sandwich arrived within 5 minutes. Restaurants were excellent. Breakfast cooked to order which... more

The executive room was excellent. It was clean and well presented and had a large and comfy bed. It was a good size and very relaxing. The food and drink were of good quality and reasonably priced. Reception was efficient, but a little reserved compared to similar hotels and this was also true of some staff, although others were more... more

I stayed here for one night on business. Hotel is very nice, modern decor and clean. Check in was poor for a hotel of this standard, not advised what room breakfast was in, times, where the restaurant is located ect ect so I ended up walking round the hotel in search of everything. Breakfast was also a let down. The... more
