I love this pub and seeing the other reviews surprises me. I have only had wonderful times in there, with excellent service by the young and efficient girls and the cheerful bartender. Last time I was in they were all running around with no time to spare. Those other complaints I don't agree with, such as children running around. It's... More

Stayed for two nights, to write part of my Master's dissertation. I needed peace and quiet and got both in abundance. Clean, simple room with everything I needed, including, most importantly, high speed and reliable WiFi. Food was excellent. Real Ales were excellent. Bar staff were very friendly and welcoming. A real locals' pub, but I was not made to... More

An enjoyable meal in excellent surroundings, Possibly the best cottage pie ever Very pleasant staff, but rather rude landlord who interrupted the young lady who was serving us However would go there again

People that have no social skills or grace should not be running a pub. We had a similar experience of the owners and locals as other reviewers - we were told that our kids were making too much noise and that the regulars were complaining - the kids, just being kids, were mainly in the garden which was empty and... Have never felt more passionate about leaving a review on trip advisor! The young bar girl was extremely accommodating with a request of a latte ( of which no machine so she made one herself .) the food was lovely ( bar snack) but all of this was totally ruined by what I assume is the female owner - I... My husband and I recently stayed in the Horse and Groom as part of our honeymoon. We arrived mid-afternoon, and nearly left because we thought it was shut, but realised it was open after spotting a small sign! Our room was very nice, with a very large bed, and comfortable space. It is a dog friendly pub, which was great... More

This period inn is situated about 3.5 miles from the centre of Chichester. We first stayed here in 2011 & decided to return. We were not disappointed. The room was spacious, clean & comfortable. Michael & Michelle were attentive & friendly. Of course, we enjoyed a bit of banter with Nick behind the bar who is always up for a... More

Accepting this review relates to drinks only, I can only suggest this pub typifies all that is bad in an old English pub. Arriving with a group of friends it was clear we had disturbed the staff and locals by visiting. Whilst holding a decent selection of cask ale this isn't enough of a reason for a visit and I... Went in for a drink on the way home, rudest staff and clientele ever. Made to fell like I had three heads whilst walking through the bar area. Chose to sit outside as reception so frosty. Children wanted to put up the parasol on their table and were immediately told off in a very sarcastic way. Avoid avoid Avoid!
