My husband and me stayed at the Horse & Groom for one night on 12/07/14 as were were going to Goodwood for an Helicopter ride the next day (Sunday). We stayed in room 5 which was a nice double room, very clean. We had our evening meal there and really enjoyed it although we thought it was over priced for... More

Husband booked here one month before we went to Goodwood Festival of Speed so admittedly we were limited. Having had a wonderful day at GFoS we were looking forward to a comfortable early night with dinner as we were shattered. We arrived at about 5:40 and had a nice welcome but told our key was with some builders and had... More

On first appearances the Pub looks quaint and full of character, but when you compare it to local pubs in the area of the same genre, forget it. If you want a beer and a bag of crisps and just a sandwich, this pub is for you, if not however walk away, some of the food is not cheap "crap"... More

We went with friends and the men ordered the lamb shank they were huge, tasty probably too much gravy. The cutlets were nice but smothered in gravy which made the sauté potatoes very soggy. The dining room is ok but not much atmosphere, the bar area looked nice. Good service and beer.

This is a lovely place to stay, clean rooms, lovely breakfast and delicious dinner. Staff is friendly and helpful. During our stay we had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend not only because of the excellent location, which allowed us to see so many attractions around, but the place itself. 17th century pub is worth seeing and when connected... This pub is relatively local for me so decided to try it out for a meal with friends. Initial welcome from the Landlady was frosty at best but certainly got worse. Is she in the right job? The first thing to say is that this is not a restaurant you have to mingle around one very busy blackboard to choose... More

Room small with tiny ensuite shower room but adequate for short stay. The noise from the ensuite extractor fan VERY noisy, ditto fans in the adjoining rooms!!!! Freshly cooked breakfast was nice but somewhat marred by direct view into kitchen. I stayed overnight as attending event in the vicinity and although not luxurious represented fairly good value at the winter... More

We ended up here when stranded by weather at a nearby airfield, thanks to the local knowledge of a friend who eats here fairly frequently. At no notice, our group booked four rooms and descended en masse for a convivial meal and overnight stay. Four stars hinted at rather more luxurious accommodation than actually exists, but checking later I found... More

Booked at last minute when preferred place in Chichester was full. Could not fault the staff for service and attention. Got shown to our room which was bigger than expected with a generous bathroom including bath and shower over. You got some noise from cars leaving the car park at closing time but our room backed onto the car park... More

Having read the reviews I booked into the Horse & Groom with an open mind, with the Goodwood Festival starting within a few days I had little choice of accommodation but went with the H&G having read good things about the food. When I arrived the young lady at the bar was very helpful and checked me in with no... More
