This period inn is situated about 3.5 miles from the centre of Chichester. We first stayed here in 2011 & decided to return. We were not disappointed. The room was spacious, clean & comfortable. Michael & Michelle were attentive & friendly. Of course, we enjoyed a bit of banter with Nick behind the bar who is always up for a... More

Accepting this review relates to drinks only, I can only suggest this pub typifies all that is bad in an old English pub. Arriving with a group of friends it was clear we had disturbed the staff and locals by visiting. Whilst holding a decent selection of cask ale this isn't enough of a reason for a visit and I... More

Went in for a drink on the way home, rudest staff and clientele ever. Made to fell like I had three heads whilst walking through the bar area. Chose to sit outside as reception so frosty. Children wanted to put up the parasol on their table and were immediately told off in a very sarcastic way. Avoid avoid Avoid!

I was solo and the room I was given was a good sized double - rather than the usual 'broom cupboard' that I get allocated at overpriced single room prices. Nice quality large bath towels. Our family booked all the rooms for a wedding on the Saturday. Saturday lunch: I had a 'nothing special' burger for £10.50 but the chips... More

Myself and my two girl friends stayed here after a day at the races at Goodwood. The room was shabby, the bed was uncomfortable with nasty cheap sheets and thin pillows. The bathroom smelt and was dirty. The room smelt musky and of mould. Came down to breakfast at 9.30 and we were told we were 5 minutes too late... More

We arrived after Goodwood , the car park was full but we got a table in the garden, served promptly, surveyed the specials board and ordered. Steak and Ale pie with veg and Advocado, chicken and bacon salad both of which were nice and tasty. Average pub prices reasonable service even at a busy time. Nice garden to sit in... More

My husband and me stayed at the Horse & Groom for one night on 12/07/14 as were were going to Goodwood for an Helicopter ride the next day (Sunday). We stayed in room 5 which was a nice double room, very clean. We had our evening meal there and really enjoyed it although we thought it was over priced for... More

Husband booked here one month before we went to Goodwood Festival of Speed so admittedly we were limited. Having had a wonderful day at GFoS we were looking forward to a comfortable early night with dinner as we were shattered. We arrived at about 5:40 and had a nice welcome but told our key was with some builders and had... More

On first appearances the Pub looks quaint and full of character, but when you compare it to local pubs in the area of the same genre, forget it. If you want a beer and a bag of crisps and just a sandwich, this pub is for you, if not however walk away, some of the food is not cheap "crap"... More
