We've stayed in the area for a week's holiday each year for the past four years. It is probable we will not be back in this part of the world again for a great while and I'm saddened by that. St Mary's Gate was always a "must-have" place to visit (well worth the walk up the hill if that's the... More

We were in Arundel visiting the cathedral and the pub was well located AND it took dogs! Double win :) Food was excellent and drinks were well priced we thought. Tasty sandwiches best enjoyed on a baguette me thinks... not for thoso with a small appetite

Arrived Friday for a wedding on Saturday. We ate in the pub that night and the owner put on the sound for the Tour de France with us without asking (and the next day when I watched the cricket). We travelled with out 5 month old son and the room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good and... More

The location is about half a mile from the centre of Arundel, so away from the traffic but still very convenient. At first glance you'd expect the rooms to be above a noisy bar, probably with squeaky floorboards, but they're out the back of the bar/restaurant (motel-style) so are well separated from the general pub activity. The room windows do... More

High Prices - London Prices - but no idea of Whiskey Prices (that are not even listed on the Bar Tariff). However lovely location with spacious bar areas. It's a long haul up the High Street with not much of a welcome but then to be fare there was a wake on!

Hi There, Thanks for your feedback. Apologies you felt your experience was not great. If you are not from the area then prices may seem high. St Marys Gate have the second lowest prices in Arundel although to be fair all the pubs are within around 20p of each other. If I remember correctly you ordered Famous Grouse. Apologies if... More

Stayed here before a family wedding. Unfortunately only for one night, could have stayed longer. Owners were ever so helpful, nice pub, good menu, rooms lovely, comfortable and clean, plenty of space to park. Definitely recommend this as a place to stay in Arundel, less than 10mins walk into the village, yet almost feels secluded. Loved our visit, thanks very... More

Stayed here for one night with my partner and small dog. Really friendly welcome, clean room with complimentary drinks, tea & coffee and in the en-suite, shower gel, shampoo & conditioner. Slept really well as the location is lovely and quiet and the bed was extremely comfortable. Fantastic breakfast in the morning which was served by the polite and friendly... More

We stayed here to celebrate my partner's 60th birthday, meeting friends who had travelled from London. Our welcome from Niven was friendly but efficient, our booking was immediately found and we were shown to our rooms. The rooms were modern with fresh, clean beds, bedding & towels and the most plentiful supply of tea/coffee and toiletries. The hospitality tray even... More

This was the perfect place to stay for a busy weekend, a wedding and a 60th birthday lunch. It was very relaxed and the owners, and their dogs, were really friendly. Our large room overlooked gardens and had a four poster bed. Everything was clean with an ample supply of tea and coffee. Excellent lighting in the bathroom for applying... More

Stayed here for two nights in a four poster room. Room was just the right size with plenty of hanging space. Although it looked out on to the back off the inn , where there were tables there was not much noise. Not sure how this would be in the height of summer . Shower door handle was broken and... More
