We stayed for a weekend at this pub and admit to being anxious seeing the previous reviews on ths website. Our opinion was good - first night was in the Oliver family room and would not have been particluarly impressed if we were staying in there for the weekend. This was in serious need of a refubishment and so glad... more

We had a weekend away for a family get together and decided to stay in two seperate B&Bs in Arundel. They could not have been more different. The first one was welcoming, clean, excellent food and the host was extremely friendly. The other, 'St Mary's Gate Inn' could not have been more different to the first. The first thing to... more

My wife and I went to the St Mary's Gate Inn for the weekend to attend the National Symphonic Orchestra in the Arundel Castle. Although the inn is up a hill, the location was still great as it is situated next to the beautiful Arundel cathedral, 5 minutes walking distance to the Arundel Park, the town centre and 10 minutes... more

I was looking on the net for a nice hotel for my birthday in Arundel to take in a bit of english history at a reasonable price when i found this little gem of a place. I always look at trip advisor for honest reviews and was a little bit worried by some of the comments but i didnt need... more

Where to begin? My wife and I booked way in advance due to us going to the Goodwood revival weekend. It is widely known and accepted (lord alone knows why) that room rates are inflated at this time of year locally, due to demand. We paid £160.00 a night for a small double en-suite which i would'nt have paid more... more

We stayed at St. Mary’s Gate Inn whilst attending a family wedding in the area. We had three rooms in total. Basically it is an old English pub with eight guest rooms. A few rooms are in a newly built annexe & three are above the pub itself. My wife and I had room 8 – the Cromwell Suite which... more

We stayed at St Marys Gate recently and were rather disappointed. We had no shower, yet the details claim there is a shower in the room. The toilet handle flushed the wrong way and right outside our window was the pub garden! This was not ideal on a red hot weekend where opening the window when in the room wasnt... more

Some secrets are meant to be shared. This is an authentic Tudor inn with up to date technology. It maintains it's charm in Arundel's lovely small village while blending in with the historical attractions. Landlord and Tapster, Terry Bedford, is a tribute to English hospitality and is generous with his expertise for his guests' requirements. The inn's bedroom windows open... more

We stayed here for 2 wonderful nights. The inn is quiet, our room had a gorgeous view of the cathedral, the staff was nice and accomodating and the food was good. Our room did not have a shower, but we enjoyed the huge bath tub. We arrived 4 hours later than we had expected to, due to a flight delay,... more

We went to St Marys Gate for one night with no darling children! The room did look a bit tired but was clean and functional. There was no shower but it was nice to have the excuse to have a bath. To tell the truth for the price you cannot expect much more. Location great and the bonus of a... more
