We stayed for one night and were made very welcome by the staff, which were all pleasant. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The food in the bar was excellent with a great choice of menu mainly using fresh local produce. There was a good range of local beer and cider. Would happily stay there again.

I stayed here with my husband while walking the south downs way. Having read some poor reviews we were a little worried but we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and the food was really excellent.

We were very well looked after, with good service on arrival, during our meal in the evening & our excellent breakfast. The room was very clean & a good size. The Jack & Jill Inn is an very good choice for walking on the South Downs & we would definitely both recommend it and return.

On the positive side, an evening menu which looked imaginative and some young staff who were polite and efficient. On the down side - a dirty room with a shower which didn't drain. Great place to stay, modern, clean, comfortable. Can easily get the bus into Brighton
