I have just returned from my stay at this hotel with a coach party. It is my opinion that if one chooses to stay in a 2 star hotel only 2 star treatment is to be expected. Our room was very clean and fresh towels every day ,the shower was good.(better than some higher grades) BUT Mealtimes were just the... More

We arrived at the hotel, got our keys for our room and then went up to the third floor. Our room was quite spacious with every thing we needed. However the bathroom needed attention as the basin was badly cracked. As we are both in our seventies we did find it difficult getting out of the bath as it was... More

About 45 of us went to the Britannia for a Friday to Sunday delayed wedding party. The couple had married in Greece a couple of weeks before. The hotel is a bit jaded and probably a 3 star rating. It's in the city centre and backs onto the cathedral. Just opposite is the motor museum which is fascinating and definitely... More

Somebody should demolish this hotel, because renovating costs are enormous. The worst hotel i have ever been. Pros: 1.The location. It is in the center, next to the university, the cathedral, the bus station, so you can go anywhere in the center of coventry in minutes. 2.In the 7th floor smoking is permitted in the room. 3.Ladies cleaning the rooms are very polite and... Well situated next to Coventry Cathedral, this hotel is an ugly reminder of how hideous Sixties architect was. It is run down, stained and battered. The restaurant is in theory open till 9.30pm but they don't want to serve anyone after 9pm. The carvery was beyond awful, everything dried up - maybe been there since lunch time? No waiter service,... More

Britannia Hotel is in the City centre so that's a Plus point. & Right behind the Cathedral, & old lanes section of City. Also Very close to Bus station & shopping centre. Several good Bars & Pubs behind, & around the Cathedral area. Plus plenty of reasonable priced restaurants. Reception is clean and staff efficient. As are all the staff.... More

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and I've slept in ditches on Salisbury plain and the back of 4 tonners/vans. 1, rooms to warm 2, rooms dirty 3, windows so dirty I didn't need to close my curtains 4, ignorant and incompetent staff 5, tired decor 6, waited so long to check in I sat down...
