One night on a business trip to one of the worst hotels I have stayed in in the UK. In desperate need of updating. Rude and uninterested reception staff, Kept waiting for 20minutes while the receptionist checked on internet for cheap rate for guest. Fid not even have a clue that she should apologise for the wait. No in room... More

Stayed there for like so many times, the price is reasonable and the location is so convenient. The coach station is exactly on the opposite side and the cathedral as well as the city center is just a couple of mins from there. Proper British ambiance of the hotel which i loved.

We booked this hotel for one night as it was close to a party we were attending and easier than staying with relatives. It cost £35 for an executive double with breakfast - which is pretty cheap for a Saturday night City Centre hotel for two people. Check in was very friendly, lobby was a bit shabby looking. On arrival... More

Stayed for one night on a weekend away with National Holidays. Location was great for the Catherdral and the good ends there!!! 6th floor room lifts very tempramental and busy at all times. Room was very shabby and not very clean. Bathroom covered in black mould and no running water to bath (shower worked). Reported to staff on reception who... More

I stay in a few hotels. I've never stayed on one this bad. Firstly the good - the staff, particularly in the restaurant. Very polite, very helpful and very efficient. Just a shame about the arrogant duty manager who clearly suffers small man syndrome terribly. However, the rest of the place is nothing more than a dump. This is a... More

Stayed here as part of a National Holidays one night mystery break. On arrival we were greeted by Lance a warm friendly receptionist who sorted our keys cheerfully and promptly. We made our way up to the room... Tired in decor, old stained mismatched furniture and fittings, and reeking of cigarette smoke. We reported this to Lance who sorted it... More

I arrived at the hotel with 4 friends as part of a mystery coach weekend. First impressions were good- very central and fast check in. However, when we arrived at our room it was a different story! Our first room was extremely grubby and had an overpowering odour of cigarettes. To be fair the helpful chap (Lance) on reception couldn't... More

This would be the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. Middle of Winter and the heating is on a timer that doesn't come on until 5pm and the staff can't/wont do anything about it. One lift of two not working, dirty room and poor breakfast. Is in a good location in the city centre.

Spent new year at this hotel with National Holidays. The hotel is a bit dated, but the room was large, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the towels and bedding were clean. We only had one meal during our stay, as we were both ill, but it was very tasty and well cooked. The problem with the meal time organisation... More
