Booked through activehotels.com and paid £40 for two adults and two children for a saturday night. The reception areas were bright and smart, but our room was in need of refurbishment, particularly the bathroom which was a bit grim. The breakfast was well above average and the staff very helpful. more

Rooms are rough around the edges, in desperate need of refurbishment. Apparently the oldest Novotel in the UK according to the receptionist, and it shows. However, excellent food (recommend the steak) and comfortable lounge area. more

Checked in OK, room seemed OK with everything you wanted (except enough milk for more than one cup, but that's a universal problem, it seems). Arrive early to this hotel. If they want to fill a room with someone else they will. As for your booking - faxes get lost, staff don't know who you are and say that you must have not confirmed properly. more
