We stayed here for one night in June 2008. The hotel was ok, what you would expect from the brand, but the state of our bathroom (room 102) was poor. The bathroom just lacked any maintenance - see the picture. The grouting was discoloured and the fixtures were rusty. more

Staff were very friendly although training might have been better. Took 15-20 mins to check into our room and almost 40 mins for room service to arrive as they got our order mixed up and had to check what we ordered. We needed to stay in Coventry overnight a family of four of us. It was not easy to find a family room available at a reasonable cost . Stayed at HI Express Coventry for one night, the room was fine, it was nice and clean, with decent space. Only a small HI Ex, but buffet breakfast was fine and the staff were exceptional. Ideal for the traveller looking for a one or two night stay. Harvester pub next door is OK as well. more

My review is a little biased because I was late arriving and there were only two rooms left. My travel agent had booked a standard room which stank of cigarettes, but the poor girl on reception couldn't do anything since there were no other rooms left. Quick check in and the usual holiday inn express room, but a couple of irritations. The heater controls, were on the heater, which was underneath the desk, so it was difficult to adjust and the temperature of the shower could not be changed (thankfully it was about right).
