My husband and I stayed in this hotel for a week in September 2009. We knew that this is a no-frills hotel and were prepared for worse! Coventry travelodge I believe was built recenty and the room we were allocated was on Floor 5 overlooking the city centre and Cathedral of Coventry. The room was sizeable and two people could... more

This hotel is wonderfully situated right in the centre of Coventry near the Cathedral and next to a shopping arcade - an excellent Primark next door! The travelodge style is simple and basic. Staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, my stay was ruined by the extremely poor lighting in the room. During the days and nights when I was mostly... more

This hotel has possibly the most central location possible, right opposite the cathedral and beside the shopping centre. This has it's drawbacks - the car park is not free, as implied at the time of booking. But even so, for an overnight stay the charge is not extortionate - there is a reasonable overnight (18.00-08.00) fee of £5 for hotel... more

You know what you get with Travelodge and that's the case with this recently re-furbished hotel, which used to be the Leofric. The location is fantastic, slap bang in the middle of the city, in one corner of the square that hosts the statue of Lady Godiva. I don't like to pollute the world with car fumes so I had... more

The hotel is in a good location right in the City Centre. Parking is available at the West Orchards Shooping Centre costing £10 per 24 hours. It is evident the building has been recently refurbished. However, due to the City Centre location, this value hotel attracts people who abuse the no smoking rules (every corridor stinks of smoke) and many... more

To quickly comment on previous reviews, all Travelodges charge extra for early check-in, and their website makes it abundantly clear that you get no refund for cancelling a saver rate - that's how they can make them so cheap. Agree that navigation by car in Central Coventry looks complicated, but I got very good advice from the staff which, when... more

We spent a night at Travelodge Coventry and was fairly happy with it. It was clean and centrally situated. The only issue we had was that the check-in time was 3pm we had to pay £10 to check in earlier at 12pm even though they had plenty of rooms available. The room was large but very basic. We paid only... more

I booked a family room weeks in advance at a knock-down rate. But after reading poor reviews, I started to have regrets: perhaps the £38 (including breakfast for four) had been a false economy.... Those doubts began to vanish as soon as we walked into the lobby: the main impression was one of space and comfort. Staff were obviously trained... more

Please note that the saver offer on the Travelodge web site is non refundable if you cancel a booking even if that booking is for months ahead, I recently made a booking for a friend for September but when she could not travel I lost 200 pounds even though I cancelled in July leaving them adecuate time to resell teh... more

Coventry is a terrible place to navigate around so finding the grotty back entrance of the hotel to unload took us nearly an hour. (Not your fault however) Panic parking on double yellow lines outside the Hotel is not a good relaxing way to unload children and luggage and the nearby car was closed at 6pm when we arrived. We... more
