I booked a 1 night stay at the old crown and it was exactly what I expected. The room was spotless and the bar staff were very friendly. Very good value for money with an excellent breakfast in the morning and an excellent pub menu for daytime food. I will defentiently book again for my next trip to birmingham

Fab location in Digbeth just next to the Custard Factory. Food and atmosphere always great in here. Prices really reasonable and by far the best food in Digbeth! They also have a huge smoking area with heaters. Happy days :-)

We booked a 2 night stay in this hotel, selecting it above others due to the history of the building and a desire to stay away from big chain names. Booking through Expedia was as straight forward as usual, however, on arrival we where greeted by a closed hotel. A closed hotel? Surely not? We have stayed in hotels from... More

We had booked a room for 1 night for 28th December with hotels.com. We arrived just after 2.30 to locked doors. After attempting to contact the owner by phone (7 times) and making enquiries at a neighbouring shop, who also tried to telephone him to no avail, we decided to venture into the city centre and book another hotel. Being... More

I had booked a single room, but on arrival was upgraded to a double room - thank you! The bed was comfortable, and the room was warm and clean, although a good dust around the light fitting wouldn't hurt... My room was not en-suite but the shared bathroom was clean with a good shower. There was a sink in the... More

Stayed one night (Sunday) in an amazingly quaint room with a four poster bed, sloping floor, exposed beams and en suite bathroom. We arrived quite late (8.30pm) and the kitchen was shut so walked 500m or so and found an Indian restaurant nearby (excellent, by the way!). The live music had stopped when we returned to the pub, but our... More

I booked a double room as the reviews had been quite positive. The outside of the hotel was picturesque and it was just £5.00 taxi ride from New Street Station. My room, however was tiny, facing the outside part of the pub and badly lit. I asked twice for a missing bulb to be replaced but that never happened. The... More

I have stopped here on a previous occasion in one of their expensive rooms and it was a lot more pleasant. Our room was cold and very noisy as there is an outside bar on the ground floor. The shared bathrooms were constantly busy so it became a problem. The bed was very uncomfortable and the bar man who served... More
