This is an unusual historic survival in an otherwise uninspiring area. Lots of old warehouses, industrial sites and a nondescript main road and suddenly there is a 16th cent Inn, right in the middle of a pretty grimy south Brum landscape. I booked this as a late stayover from LateRooms, just as a bed on my way to elsewhere. I... More

Nice dining area. Was clean, bed wasn't the best but had a good night's sleep. Receptionists & Staff was polite. Nice wood through out the hotel, cosy & Nice relaxing feeling. Would maybe stay again. Rooms was nice with flat screen TV & Free view.

It has been a really long time since I had a drink in the old crown years since we had a meal. There are interesting wallpapered walls ( looks a little as if they had a library ) There is also a new coffee shop. So we booked a Xmas meal service was excellent from the booking of the table... More

Stumbled across this pub with my girlfriend. From first glance seemed like a nice traditional pub. However once seated we began to notice a serious infestation of flies on the walls and around our table. Also the bar staff didn't seem the most friendly or inviting and the food was at best what you'd expect from weather spoons except more... More

Me and my partner found this place online at a very reasonable price, when we arrived at the inn we was greeted with a smile and made very welcome and we was not left standing around like some of the bigger chains we have been to, we was shown to our room which was very clean and well presented, we... Called in here for lunch with a work colleague who had done some looking around the night before for an Olde world type pub. The pub dates back to the 1300's and it is spectacular to look at both inside and out, so different and a refreshing change to the usual public houses you see around these days. I opted... More

Arrived at 10am prearranged as attending a funeral at 12.30pm. Room No1 was shown fire exit that doubles up as late entrance, a key is given as standard, the room had a sink with 2 miniature bottles of shower jell, tiny wardrobe, the TV was very high on the wall and the signal would occasionally cut out, terrestrial only, tea... An independent hotel with character. Not in tip-top condition but clean and tidy. Good breakfast made individually(ie not a buffet) The bar was very relaxed for the end of the day. Friendly staff. Good value.

Booked because of the 4 poster beds, price, location. Room sadly didn't have a four poster but that was because it was a basic room I booked. Was fairly clean although needs the cobwebs cleaning on the ceiling. Bathroom is separate but shared with no one so it was fine. Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was really... More
