I paid half the price for 1 night in a travelodge the night before and was at the same standard as this hotel so wouldnt say it was value for money. Stayed here for one night as i had a show to go to at NEC. Well located between city centre and NEC. Easy check -in and check out. Large modern rooms, clean bathroom. I ate at Star City which is just over the road, which is convenient. I would recommend this hotel for a short stay. more

Stayed at The Purple Hotel for 1 night whilst on a business trip. Good sized rooms, comfortable and clean. Well located for Star City and Villa Park Football Club. Spent two nights here on business, attending a conference in the city centre. All the centre hotels were either full or charging an exorbitant rate, so this place was very much a compromise, charging a decent rate but in a difficult, out of centre location.
