This was our first time visiting this Michelin starred restaurant. We had a five course tasting menu which was absolutely fabulous. The staff were friendly and attentive to our every need. Will definitely be recommending this restaurant. Keep up the good work.

I have long wanted to go to Simpsons and, sadly, was really disappointed. OK the restaurant is undergoing a refurb but, despite this, the whole venue seemed to lack atmosphere. The staff did just about enough to be OK, but we had to keep asking for a wine refill and were not asked if we wanted coffee at the end... More

My husband and I stayed in one of the 4 bedrooms for the night and ate in the restaurant. The room was super, luxurious, clean, big and tasteful. The restaurant is nicely decorated although nothing stunning. Staff friendly enough but not fabulous. Food really really good, but not quite excellent which for the price is a shame. I would recommend,... More

What a fantastic place this is. Its what you must call a dining experience rather than just a meal. The service, the quality, even the value dare I say it is just sensational. I have been a quite a few times now and I consider it my favourite restuarant. A must go if you are in Birmingham. I have also... More

I second every word of Rackface's review below which is spot on. As a group of 8 most of us were impressed with our food, but not universally so. However, we felt abandoned at the far end of the conservatory (which lacks atmosphere) until one of our party complained at which point the service improved markedly. At nearly £1200, admittedly... Accomplished cooking as ever. However the service is now completely devoid of the charisma that is so essential in a restaurant like Simpsons. The youngsters that the restaurant have now decided go with seem knowledgeable enough but lack the personality to be welcoming guests. Tony and Geoff are no longer there and seem to have been replaced by adolescents. Some... More

We had a 7 course meal and overnight stay at simpsons as a christmas present so booked it for april around my husbands birthday. We were told on the phone that check in was from 3pm, so arrived at around 4.30. We found the front door locked, so knocked the door, rang the bell several times and even tried to... More

Really disappointing experince when stayed at the Simpson hotel....quality, standards and customer service was not upto the quality you would expect from such a resturant. To make the experince even worse....the customer service afterwards was shocking.....a real disappointment!

we have eaten here on many occasions and the food is always 'great'. even better than many '2 star' restaurants. Unfortunately, recent changes in management have made this less attractive and what was once always a fabulous experience has now lost its sparkle. New rules on lunchtime dining (e.g. last orders cut off times) have meant that this is less... More
