Myself and my family had a fabulous treat when attending here just before Christmas. The staff were attentive and friendly. The food was exquisite. We each had the taster menu which we were told would take four hours and it did. My favorite was the duck liver and also the pear tarts with blue cheese ice cream and walnut crumb.... More

My partner and I visited Simpsons recently as a treat. We have been before a few times but it has been a couple of years since our last visit. Everything about our visit was excellent from how we were greeted, the service and the food. Simpsons is not an every day establishment or perhaps an every week one as it... More

Wednesday 19th Nov 2013. Room and table booked. 1 hour delay on the M1 with the engine switched off as the motorway was shut between junction 15 and 18. Arrived too late for the kitchen. Thank you Chris McLoughran for your welcome and for sorting out the best beef sandwiches and rioja with it to be brought up to the... More

Apart from the horrible fever tree tonic which is even worst than britvic and that's saying something in my opinion, this meal was the absolute nuts.. Clever combinations and chef show offs through out made this an evening to remember. Thanks

Friday evening 25/7/14 Stunning food served with a smile and great efficiency. Every course was superb but the simple sounding risotto was one of the best things I've ever eaten and had depths of flavours from humble ingredients I didn't think possible.

What a fantastic place this is. Its what you must call a dining experience rather than just a meal. The service, the quality, even the value dare I say it is just sensational. I have been a quite a few times now and I consider it my favourite restuarant. A must go if you are in Birmingham. I have also... More

I second every word of Rackface's review below which is spot on. As a group of 8 most of us were impressed with our food, but not universally so. However, we felt abandoned at the far end of the conservatory (which lacks atmosphere) until one of our party complained at which point the service improved markedly. At nearly £1200, admittedly... Accomplished cooking as ever. However the service is now completely devoid of the charisma that is so essential in a restaurant like Simpsons. The youngsters that the restaurant have now decided go with seem knowledgeable enough but lack the personality to be welcoming guests. Tony and Geoff are no longer there and seem to have been replaced by adolescents. Some... More

lunch here regularly but never stayed before. Only four rooms and stayed in the French suite - lovely décor and a bathroom to die for! Bed not as comfy as it looks - they should invest in some feather pillows! Arrived that evening, rather frazzelled due to bad traffic and was calmed down and encouraged to relax by the male... More

We had a 7 course meal and overnight stay at simpsons as a christmas present so booked it for april around my husbands birthday. We were told on the phone that check in was from 3pm, so arrived at around 4.30. We found the front door locked, so knocked the door, rang the bell several times and even tried to... More
