An excellent venue, great value for money. I recently stayed here with 3 old Birmingham university pals (our old hall having been demolished!). Staff were pleasant and helpful. The rooms were clean, comfortable, with Wifi and tv. Breakfast also was very good, with fruit and veggie choices. The bus from town passes right by the door. Will certainly be coming... More

This accommodation is such a surprising package. For the price I was paying I thought it might be quite dingy, but reading past reviews I knew it'd be clean. Even when I arrived I had reservations but once I got into the room I thought it was amazing, clean and bathroom was spotless. I stay out alot and this is defo... More

I arrived in Birmingham to attend Warwickshire Cricket Club and booked into Venue Birmingham's, Conference Park accommodation once the home of Sir Peter Scott, the Explorer and Naturist, (Bus 98/99) outside New Street Railway Station. Arriving at the Conference Park through torrential rain, I was greeted by the friendly receptionist, Asani, who told me how to get from the hotel... More

Many thanks for your kinds words: it is always good to hear that we are performing better than other hotels in the city! And thanks also for naming the member of staff that was so helpful; I'm going to have to make sure that she gets some recognition for such excellent service. More

The location of the Lucas House conference centre accommodation is excellent in Edgbaston, one of the greenest and nicest parts of the city and part of the university campus. As befits a management training conference centre accommodation, the rooms are fairly basic but there is all that one needs, good bed and very clean, en suite, WiFi and all the... More

I recently stayed in the conference park at Birmingham university; it is good for the team meetings, if you are looking for a low budget accommodation. The food served at the restaurant opposite to the venue is good and the service was very quick. The rooms are well maintained but the lighting needs to be improved. The shower tub is... More

This is basically run with a student accommodation ethos. The rooms are small and badly furnished. The shower room was grim with mould and damp patches. Loo roll was rationed strictly. Guests having dinner at the beginning of the evening did better but by about 7.30pm they were down to scrapings. Breakfast is badly organised and the staff seem to... More

Stayed overnight whilst attending a conference at the University of Birmingham. An interesting throwback to student days and definitely in need of a "facelift". Having visited several University conference facilities recently, I suspect it won't be long before this one gets a refit. Simply because a conference venue is at a University, doesn't mean the accommodation needs to resemble a... More

We stayed here as it was convenient for a meeting I was attending. It was the closest place to the location and within walking distance. I didn't really expect a great deal for £45 a night, but I have to say it compares very well with any of the budget hotel chains. It took us a couple of laps of... More

Hi John: you are not the first person to comment on how much the signs could be improved: the really annoying thing though is that we work under very tight restrictions from the landlords who own all of the land that the University and the Conference Park is on. They have so far forbidden us from putting up some bigger,... More

We stayed as part if a large family group, it was booked for us. Whilst everything in our room worked, including the free Wifi, the decor was tired and the colour drab. It just did not look inviting, I build student halls for a living so I know how well these functional places can look. Age is taking its toll... More

Hi: could you let me know where you saw an incorrect postcode? - the map and postcode on the B&B hotel page is accurate: http://venuebirmingham.com/meet/conferencepark#tabset-tab-4 - I cannot for the life of me see where we have put down a wrong postcode and I am urgently trying to get it fixed for guests! Friendly staff; convenient location; quiet; very clean and warm (although decor a little dated); good food (£9.95 for main course and drink; but £15 and £21 for 2-3 courses a little pricy), with full cooked breakfast/ cereals/ fruit etc included in room price. My room overlooked trees and greenery, as did the restaurant - I enjoyed watching squirrels leaping from... More
