We booked a double and single room to attend a graduation ceremony in the University. £120 for the 2 rooms with a fabulous buffet breakfast and lovely helpful staff. Yes some aspects may be a little dated but it was good value for money and very convenient for any thing you may want to do in Edgbaston or wider Birmingham.... More

Lucas House Conference Centre is in a particularly good location if you want to attend events in Edgbaston, being within easy walking distance of Birmingham University buildings, the Priory Tennis Club, Botanical Gardens, etc. It offers free parking, and the University station is a short walk away if you need to go into the city. However, the comfort of your... More

Stayed for the week in Peter Scott House whilst attending a conference, the place has great 1970s ambience! Nice clean room, overlooking woodland and fields, free WiFi and also an ironing board complete with iron- you don't get those in many hotels! Bathroom and products are good quality. Nice staff, and good restaurant and bar facilities in Lucas House next... More

I stayed for 2 nights in the Lucas / Peter Snow conference centre, surrounded by nature, trees , in leafy Edgbaston. Convenient for the University self evidently, but also useful for the QE Medical centre, and the city centre. It is only 2 stops on the train from New Street (University ) Breakfast is included, there is a bar and... More

The shower had a blocked drain, the bed was very uncomfortable, sound insulation non existent and it is a rather shabby place which is not even clear how to get into the building. Breakfast was good but for this sort of budget accomodation the price should be much cheaper.

Hi Tom: we're really sorry you didn't have the best experience when you stayed with us. In order to prevent this happening again, we wondered if you could let us know when you stayed and the room number? - that way we can make sure to address the specific problems you highlighted. Had a single room in Lucas house. This is a little tired but the room was clean and a decent size. Breakfast was good and just what you need to begin the day, a hot and cold buffet. The evening menu is also was good, with excellent staff. There is a decent bar serving the necessaries!. Have to say that... More

Had a twin bedded room in the accommodation block over the road from Lucas house. This is a little shabby but the room was clean and a reasonable size. Breakfast is served in Lucas House and is excellent with a hot and cold buffet. The evening menu is also excellent, as are the staff. There is a small bar which... More

For £80 a night I expected a bit more. Breakfast was good but basic. The room small but tatty. I don't know when this place was last done up but it needs an overhaul. Conduit and trunking everywhere hiding cables and all the pipe work boxed up. Needs some tlc. Furniture wasn't great either. It was otherwise functional but not... More

Not quite what we expected but on the whole it was functional. A bit pricy (£80 per night) on the balance of things hence the low score. The place really needs a refit. Built in the 70s I haven't a clue when it was last refurbished. The rooms are small and what was apparent was the amount of trunking used... More

It is a great location for visiting Birmingham University, being on the doorstep, but also for the pubs in Harborne and Edgbaston as well as Edgbaston cricket ground. Its also handy for the city centre as its not far to walk to the Bristol road where there are frequent buses into the centre. However, it is basic accommodation in an... More
