Stayed overnight whilst attending a conference at the University of Birmingham. An interesting throwback to student days and definitely in need of a "facelift". Having visited several University conference facilities recently, I suspect it won't be long before this one gets a refit. Simply because a conference venue is at a University, doesn't mean the accommodation needs to resemble a... More

We stayed here as it was convenient for a meeting I was attending. It was the closest place to the location and within walking distance. I didn't really expect a great deal for £45 a night, but I have to say it compares very well with any of the budget hotel chains. It took us a couple of laps of... More

Hi John: you are not the first person to comment on how much the signs could be improved: the really annoying thing though is that we work under very tight restrictions from the landlords who own all of the land that the University and the Conference Park is on. They have so far forbidden us from putting up some bigger,... More

We stayed as part if a large family group, it was booked for us. Whilst everything in our room worked, including the free Wifi, the decor was tired and the colour drab. It just did not look inviting, I build student halls for a living so I know how well these functional places can look. Age is taking its toll... More

Hi: could you let me know where you saw an incorrect postcode? - the map and postcode on the B&B hotel page is accurate: http://venuebirmingham.com/meet/conferencepark#tabset-tab-4 - I cannot for the life of me see where we have put down a wrong postcode and I am urgently trying to get it fixed for guests! Friendly staff; convenient location; quiet; very clean and warm (although decor a little dated); good food (£9.95 for main course and drink; but £15 and £21 for 2-3 courses a little pricy), with full cooked breakfast/ cereals/ fruit etc included in room price. My room overlooked trees and greenery, as did the restaurant - I enjoyed watching squirrels leaping from... More

We stayed just a few days ago for just one night. And we was only looking for a cheap place to stay and therefore for the price we wasnt expecting very much (just the basics). After a few wrong turns (the post code doesnt take you to the entrance)... we arrived to a friendly welcome and given the keys as... More

Hi there: thanks for the kind words - but can you let me know what page on our site you saw the incorrect postcode? The hotel homepage at http://venuebirmingham.com/meet/conferencepark has the correct postcode of B15 2RA and I am not sure where the wrong postcode is... - but now you have mentioned it you have got me worried! - and... Although the hotel certainly isn't plush or very modern, it is an ideal location if you want to stay on the University of Birmingham campus for any reason. It was a 5 minute walk from the main library and about a 15 minute walk from restaurants. The rooms were very spartan and seemed to me to be old dorm rooms... More

Basic hotel for the budget conscious. Out of town. Free car parking, WIFI and breakfast included. Good if you need to be in south west Birmingham. Rooms a little dated but clean. Quite. No complaints.

Stayed here with my daughter for the university open day! Surprisingly good, clean, comfy bed, shower gel lots of towels and a hairdryer and iron! After watching a little telly on the flat screen we slept like logs and and had a wonderful buffet style breakfast, warm plates and lots of choice! staff friendly and I would recommend this hotel... That's a very good point about the entrance not being too easy to find: we do our best with the signs, but we are not actually allowed to put up the huge signs we would prefer - what with being a part of the University and everything... I have done my best with the location part of our website and... More
