We went for a reunion and we had the best time. The hotel is lovely and the staff are wonderful and helpful. After our night out they let us all come back to the hotel and the breakfast was lovely. Next time i am in birmingha, will be stayingthere again. more

Arrived at the hotel which appears to be located on the outskirts of a housing estate and was given a single room instead of a double. Was then given keys to another room - thick dust on the wardrobe, plaster missing from the walls, bathroom floor and shower very grimy. Drinks at the hotel bar are very pricey. At breakfast... more

The staff here are probably the most helpful I've met on my travels with business. Great central location, good clean rooms, good breakfast and bar food. I have now made this my regular hotel when in Birmingham. more

I am the friend of the person who wrote the 'Where was Basil Fawlty' review and I don't need to add too much because everything written was very accurate . My room was tiny with one narrow window at the end of it which didn't let in much light - it's a good job that I'm not claustrophobic. My friend... more

We arrived with 5 coach loads of visitors and joined a queue around the outside of the building as we could not get into the reception area .They could just not cope.We eventually decided to by pass this quque and to go into the bar for a drink and check in later( The hotel management could have come into the... more

Checking in went well. The problems began when we got to our room. The Paragon has 2 categories of rooms and we had been booked into one of their basic rooms. Basic doesn't begin to define it. The room itself had 2 tall windows so there was natural light as the room lights were dim to say the least. The... more

Booked in through work and arrived late, was desperately tired and hungry due to journey from hell via A14! The place was horribly smelly. Had to run upstairs to dump my case just so I could get some food as it shut at 9.30. Waited about 10 minutes with other people at the bar ( which resembeld an old fashioned... more

This is the third time we have stayed at this hotel. It's within walking distance of the city centre (or short taxi ride) and has a free car park located next to it. The hotel is easily accessed without having to drive through the centre of the city to get there. There is a take-away chippy a few doors down... more

After reading all the extremely negative comments, I was quite nervous about my stay at the Paragon however I was pleasantly surprised. I cannot comment on the standard rooms, as after reading said reviews I immediatley contacted the hotel direct and requested a superior room ( I had booked an overnight stay and a trip to Cadbury World as a... more
