Stayed 2 nights. On arrival was asked for my card to cover a £40 deposit for "any damage to the room". This is always a bad sign, it usually means the general clientele are unsavoury. Look around you and you will notice that this certainly is the case. Lots of single men hanging around waiting for the local ladies of... More

Stayed here for 4 nights , i moved rooms 4 times due to not being able to open the door,no water,no working tv and not being able to flush the loo ! My bedding and towels were clean and with finally a working shower things seemed fine . The hotel itself could be a nice place if a LOT of... More

Booked here after we were organising our trip a bit last minute, and this was one of the only hotels available at short notice able to sleep 12 people. £20 a head for 6 double rooms wasn't bad overall price. No breakfast included but they do serve it at a cost on-site. On arrival we were met by the disused... More

Having traveled to Birmingham on a business trip I really wanted to be close to my clients business so I ended up at the Paragon Hotel. This should not be classed as a hotel. .The reception was clean, however was I entered the room the nightmare started. The bed was smaller than the length of my body. .The tv was... More

Positives - The location, secure parking and impressions from outside, a friend & I stayed there for two nights over the weekend. It is a 10-minute walk to Hurst Street and the Bull Ring. Also parking is available on site and is inclusive. That is all I have to say positive about the place. We were initially given a room... More

Thank you for your review, and I am sorry that you were not 100% satisfied with your stay. I am incredibly well travelled, I've stayed in 10p hostels in Asia, stayed near Compton and Inglewood and backpacked a lot. On arrival the hotel appeared to be located in a slightly deprived area, there was A LOT of broken glass, litter and around 8 smashed car windows along the entire street from the previous night. Check in was very... More

Thank you for reviewing your recent visit The Paragon hotel has been recently acquired by a private owner, bringing this iconic property out of a long period of receivership after the previous owners had fallen into administration following years of business decline, neglect, deterioration and lack of investment to maintain the hotel to an operating standard. We visited Birmingham for one night to go and see a show in the Alexanda Theatre. We arrived at the hotel to find out that the free parking facility was actually just a shed filled with rubbish and actually looked like someone may have lived there. It's not manned and doesn't have any security facilities in place. We then went... More

I had the unfortunate experience to stay at the Paragon hotel. Usually I stay at budget hotels but after looking at the website I liked the look of this classic hotel. Entering my room it looked nothing like the standard double on their website. There was no picture on the wall, no phone in the room, no flowers, no cushions... More

This is not a hotel, it's a filthy hostel that has fallen into disrepair. The first room I was allocated smelled so bad I couldn't spend a minute in it, the next one wasn't much better but at least it had a window that opened. Tiny rooms, filthy bathrooms, grim cobwebby stained communal areas. Just awful
