The hotel is quite quirky as it is in the old irish quarter of Birmingham near the coach station in Digbeth and I wouldn't want to walk around there late at night - although it is fine by day and you can park in their free car park which is an old warehouse just across the road from the hotel.... What you pay for is what you get. Warm friendly efficient welcome. Room, a single was a compact but entirely functional no frills room clean with good shower. Night porter is of gold star quality. Its not the Ritz just a great value bed for the night or two

We read some of the reviews for this hotel and almost didn't book but we were looking to minimise the amount we spent on a hotel and have money left for meals etc. In the end we only paid £35 a night and we felt that the hotel was good value for this price. Yes the hotel is basic and... More

After reading 2013 reviews I was expecting an improvement on the comments left but it appears there hasn't been any.. Our room reeked of damp, the bath had mould around the rim, the sink was falling off the wall, the hot tap in the bath wouldn't come on & then it wouldn't turn off properly. The shower rail had paint... More

Damp, smelly, crappy bed, tv doesn't work, flee bitten, the bath water is bright orange. The area is a pure delight, featuring rat infested dumps, a kebab house with what I can only say must be pictures of vomit in the window. There's as much chance of me sampling their breakfast as a DFS sale ending. It's so dirty, even... More

Stayed here for a friends wedding (also in hotel) and its the first wedding iv ever considered leaving because of the state of the room! Room was small, mould on the ceilings, stains on the walls, cracked window (also didnt shut properley), shower head was cracked so no pressure and water ended up spraying all over the bathroom!! The corridors... More

Stayed here for one night, upon arrival i noticed lots of people just sitting around the reception area, checked in, got given my key, used the stairs to first floor to find people sitting on the stairs with their phones plugged in, walked down a poorly lit corridor, heard various noises coming from other rooms, eventually found my room, opened... They say, you get what you pay for but this place is on a different level! The room was small, basic, needs refurbishing, shower was pathetic and leaked everywhere, had mould on the walls, was noisy outside and inside the hotel. However, the bed was comfortable. The lobby area was filled with 25-30 foreign nationals playing music on their phones,... More
