The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from New Street or a £5 taxi ride. Check-in was smooth and efficient. The bedrooms are a good size and the bed comfortable. The temperature in the room was pleasant unlike a lot of hotels which always seem too warm. There was no bath only a shower. Although bars and restaurants are not... more

We stayed here to be in Birmingham for Chinese New Year and chose this hotel because my wife works for IHG and we get a substantial discount. Check in was not good - speaking too fast and not listening to my questions... The room was functionally clean but looked "cheap" and "tired". It was not a room you could feel... more

We arrived at the hotel after much confusion. The taxi driver was not sure where exactly the hotel was but a little liaison with other drivers, got us there in the end. I was a little disappointed that the hotel is so far away from the centre of the city. Its a good 20 minute walk into the centre of... more

My sister and I stayed here for a leisure visit, mainly for the Xmas market, but we packed in a lot, including a carol concert and a trip to the theatre. The hotel is perfectly adequate if you are not staying long and is close to the city centre for all attractions. I am a Priority Club member but, unlike... more

Absolute bargain for a good city centre hotel we payed £65 for the room with a first rate continental breakfast. Top notch very clean modern room and the buffet breakfast was superb with lots of choice unusual for a continental lots of yogurt, coisant. toast and jam/preserves bagals ect. Only 10 mins from New street station no need for taxis... more

Dec 8, 2009 | Trip type: Friends getaway

Went over for football match with a friend so needed somewere cheap and central which this hotel offered. I would say a 15 minute walk to central train station so i dont see how people can make it in 5 unless they run! Not far off broad street and there are a couple of trendy clubs on the next street,... more

I was very surprised at the hotel since it was so cheap yet the rooms were spotless and everything was well maintained. Only downside was the the breakfast and quality of the juice. They should have a full buffet breakfast available. i would mind paying extra for that. more

Stayed here for one night on business-very nice rooms and good reception area with a small but perfectly functional bar. It is 5 mins from all the main stuff in Birmingham city centre. Some people complained about noise but I never heard a thing.Continental breakfast in the morning sets you up for the day. If your looking for a good hotel,... more

I have a Priority Club credit card which gets you points for staying at Intercontinetal Hotels of which Holiday Inn is a part. Apart from the points, I had never previously experienced any 'priority' at these hotels before, but this time I was welcomed and taken in ahead of other guests who were already waiting to check in (which was... more

Solo female, last minute booking so it was relatively expensive for a HE express (£95). However the room was very nicely done and the staff were excellent, as I had several things I needed them to get/do. Comfy bed with a choice of pillows - I couldnt work out the shower but thats probably just me.....breakfast was HI ex fare... more
