I’m an IHG “Platinum” member (which means that I spend far too many work nights in hotel rooms) and have stayed in various of their hotels in the Birmingham area. The Crowne Plaza would not be high on my list of hotels to return to. It charges a premium price (based, no doubt, on its proximity to the NEC and... More

Stayed with a friend to attend a concert at the Genting Arena. Greeted warmly by Chloe on reception who, on hearing it was my birthday, tried to offer an upgrade but as there were none available she gave us a late check out at no cost. Our room wasn't quite ready so we were given vouchers for complimentary drinks at... More

This delivers what you probably expect from a large hotel chain near an airport. Provides what you need adequately (although the room service menu is very limited), with nothing spectacular. Clean, comfortable, and a good breakfast. A better option than the nearby Hilton.

Well another tired "brown" and bland room.My bed was ok and the pillows were ok.My curtains did not fit the window very well so lots of light streaming in from dawn..The shower was neither good nor bad but the tempersature control was hard to use and fiddly.the room did have a fridge! This hotel is really isolated and in the... More

Stayed at this hotel last weekend for the Neil Diamond concert at the Genting Arena. Locations could not have been better. The hotel has a back exit with a foot bridge across the main lake at the back of the hotel which brought us out right by the arena. Far better location and setting than going to the O2 in... More

We stayed here for one night, chosen for its closeness to the Genting Arena. The hotel is ideally placed for this venue and the NEC, probably the airport too judging by the proximity of the aircraft taking off - although the aircraft noise didn't disturb us. The hotel's easy to find from the motorway & the on-site carpark is £10... More

Usual high standard of service when checking in and out, and a room upgrade to boot with a lake view on the 4th floor, with free wifi. Didn't have dinner as went out, but did have breakfast which was all very good. My usual haunt when staying near the office.

Quite often visit for business meetings - either in the meeting centre or in the cafe area. The reason for using the hotel is the convenient location but also the excellent service from the staff. The lobby tcafe staff are efficient, friendly and helpful - very nice lady with dark hair is lovely as are her colleagues, the cafe staff were... More

We stayed at this hotel to watch a concert at the Genting Arena. It was in the perfect spot, just a short walk away over a temporary footbridge. We travelled to Birmingham via train getting off at Birmingham International. The hotel was a 15 minutes walk from the station and it was easily sign posted so no fear of getting... More

This hotel is right next to the NEC and train station... It has been run down for a while.. Nice staff makes up for the hotel condition. But it still needs to be redone.... New comfortable beds would be a great place to start.
