I came with my family before attending Birmingham Uni this week, and was pleasantly surprised. I had booked the hotel a few months back as it was the closest to the Uni, but having subsequently read the reviews we were apprehensive to say the least. On arrival the reception still looked like it was being worked on, but when we... More

Greeted with the smell of mould and damp. Tiles falling off in the tiny shower which was covered in mildew. Cold water was coming from the shower so I left left it to run for 10 minutes to warm up. Heard a crash coming from the shower so went to investigate...stepped off the bed and the room was flooded due... More

I needed a hotel in a hurry as a course came up I needed to attend. I booked in and said to my partenr well it does not look much on the website but what harm can one night do. I had to pre pay, but that did not stop me from walking into the room and walking out. That... More

The hotel bears no resemblance to the website. From the outside it just looks a little run down but bearable. Inside, things go from bad to worse. The room we were shown (up many flights of stairs with dirty carpets that made me seriously make a mental note of where the fire exits were) didn't look like it had seen... More

I stayed as it was up the road from where my daughter lives…we walked in the room, i used the toilet and we left. I had already pre-paid and was charged a further £50 when it was advertised as a discount for the weekend. We ended up paying over £100 for an alternative location because of the (lack of) service,... More

Nasty smell, stained carpets, paintwork all chipped. Bedroom not cleaned prior or during visit. In fact the room was not visited by staff (mainly invisible) during my 4 day stay. Carpet threadbare in places. Flush the toilet and there is a terrible noise until cistern refills. TV does not work properly. Get your own breakfast if you can find the... More

My advice with regards to this hotel! IF YOUR CAR IS BIG ENOUGH TO SLEEP IN, THEN DO IT, THE CAR PARK IS A GOOD SIZE. On first impressions the outside of the building looks ok, the gardens just need a good tidy. After that then its all down hill, that is except for the four flights of stairs you... More

My mother and sister stayed there when visiting me and my partner in out new home just down the road. They said the room stank, the carpet was peeling up, the tv didn't work, the shower was mouldy, the staff nearly let the guests set the place on fire, they were unavailable, unaccommodating, 'shy' or just rude or didn't understand,...
