Yes, most reviews are correct. The rooms need to be refurbished although beds are comfortable and the bedding is clean & fresh. Service & food quality is good but the location is not the prettiest. In summary it was the best priced hotel of this type in Birmingham for an overnighter and if, god forbid, I needed to overnight in... More

My room was very cold, I actually thought there was a window open but there wasn't!! But i didn't really want to put my heater on as the walls had started to go black above the heater, so didn't want to sleep with it on... The food wasn't great, the desert buffet, I told them the cakes were dried and... More

If you're planning an overnight here and expecting to get some sleep forget it! When we stayed it was full of drunk hen parties, with screaming and laughing down the corridors until gone 5.00am. The night porter was a complete waste of time and we didn't sleep a wink! Complained the next morning and got a miserly £25 refund, my... More

Ok, I wasn't expecting much for £46 a night and it didn't disappoint. It's not terrible (the bed was clean) but it's pretty run down. The bathroom was pretty old looking and could do with a make-over, the room was small and the carpet-well, I kept my socks on.The bar is ok (didn't try the food) and the location ok.... More

Stayed here for a 3 day conference and found the place grew on me. It's not in the prettiest area and bedrooms are pretty standard with few frills - I started my visit with reasonably low expectations. However customer service was good and the food was exceptional - much better than an average hotel. Well cooked buffet style meals all... More

Great place to stay, will do again. Only one small problem and that is not hotels fault there is not a lot to walk to nearby so a car/taxi needed for trip to local restaurants/pub etc apart from that excellent for value for money, breakfast great was free for my daughter too. More

I would like to agree with Rave DJ and his complementary review of the Campanile. I have just spent three nights at this Conference style hotel and was impressed by the excellent food and customer services we received from all staff. We were made to feel really welcome. The rooms and decor are a little dated but they are clean... More

I had the Aston suite, I believe, so think my room may have been different to the rest, it was not very nice. The bed folded out of a cheap mdf wall unit and did not look inviting. The room was large and was not very cosy. The tv was a distance from the bed so it was not easy... More

Let me start by saying that this is not the Savoy. It's a chain hotel and the decor is therefore bland and uninteresting, for the most part. Special merit, however, for the bed - the mattress was very comfortable and the sheets were sparklingly clean (and changed regularly). Also notable was the hot, powerful shower. There's a pool table on... More
