The Travelodge chain in the UK is the equivalent to Motel 6 in the States. In this case, the hotel occupies a prime location on Broad Street with direct access to the Convention Center, Theater, low to high cost restaurants, and an area on the canal that is delightful. The room was large, clean and well-maintained, however, the hallway was... more

The hotel is what you expect for a city centre travelodge. It is basic and noisy if you have a room facing broad street on a Fri or Sat night. We had a family room which faced the back of the hotel so was quiet and the room although basic was more or less clean and for £29 is pretty... more

Fantastic location for central Birmingham attractions. Limited parking. Tired & run down it is in desperate need of a complete refurb. Room was spacious. You get what you pay for, & for 1 night it does the job. more

Stayed here for my birthday on 19th June 09. The reviews we read before we went scared us a little, but the rooms were clean and quite big. There is a need for the rooms to have some cosmetic work done, for instance a paint job would make it look so much better. The reception staff were friendly on check... more

We were going to a concert at the NIA and had left booking somewhere to stay until the last minute. Oh dear, I wish I'd read the reviews on this place before booking. I'd rather have slept in the car! We arrived at 2.15 pm to check in, and were told we couldn't book in till 3 pm unless we... more

Reason for stay: A friends birthday in Birmingham we needed somewhere to crash for the night. Prices/booking: We paid £29.50 for the room only no breakfast, it was cheaper because we pre paid when booking a month before. The booking system on the website was a bit of a nightmare when booking this one as it kept crashing! But once... more

okay its cheaper than other inns, lodges and nearby hotels (£58 per night) but you know the old saying... I even added £4.50 for breakfast delivered to my door - what a fool - one chewy biscuit, an orange juice which was advertised as a smoothie and a cereal that tasted like the bottom bits in a cereal packet! Is it... more

This hotel was just nasty!!! There were 3 of us and we booked a family room. On arrival we were shocked firstly by the hotel car park, the spaces were not even car width, so you could get in the space but not out of your car!!!!!! Once inside we were again shocked by how filthy and run down the... more

Probably THE worst night I have ever had in a "hotel". They do comment about some noise at weekends - and that is an underestimation.......what didn't help was evacuating to a fire alarm at 3am, and the smell of urine in the stairs was just disgusting. My other half is still scratching the bites he left with! more
