Stayed in a twin room with a friend for a concert at the NIA... Just a short walk to the venue along picturesque city centre canal. Lots of bars/eateries in the area. Parked just over the road at the red cage aka town hall (£11 per day vs mailbox £19 per day) Room was comfortable, clean, spacious. Agree with some... More

We stayed here as a small group enjoying a girly weekend. The location within the Mailbox is great for most of Birmingham's main attractions which are all within walking distance. The public areas of the hotel are relatively smart and we thought our stay offered good value but the rooms themselves were shabby and tired. Peeling paint, mould in the... More

Good location but the inside of the hotel is looking tired. This hotel is in need of some investement, room was clean but dated and worn, breakfast was fine, staff were pleasant, i dont think i will be rushing back.

We stayed here for 1 night in December when we went to the Alexandra theatre to watch Jersey Boys. The hotel was only a stones throw form the theatre so was the perfect location for us. There are also a handful of high quality reataurants in the mailbox which is really handy if you don't want to go far, pay... More

Stayed there last week, thank goodness only one night. The room was freezing I had to put my coat on top of quilt to get warm, the staircase was warmer than my room. Warmest place in my room was the shower. Got an Out of Date Yogurt for breakfast, The girl serving breakfast was very pleasant and worked very hard,... More

Really surprised about this place as the whole complex is quite new so I was expecting the rooms to be fairly modern. Walk into reception which was nice but once got onto the floors where the rooms are everything changed. It was like walking back into the 80's. The carpets were shoddy and had tape on them to cover the... More

I didn't read the trip advisor on this hotel, just booked it for its location for a business meeting the following morning. Reception all good but as soon as you get out the lift- floor 4, broken window held together with duct tape and cardboard. This is closely followed by wrinkled poorly fitted carpets, held down with more duct tape.... More

After reading other reviews and people stating the poor condition of the hotel my heart sank. To late to change the booking I arrived to find the hotel over looking the water. Hotel staff were polite and very friendly. They upgraded my room so I had a view over the water. As I approached the room I saw what others... More

Stayed here for one night as was attending a birthday party in Mailbox and wanted somewhere to crash afterwards. Check was fast and the receptionist was very friendly, the room itself was very spacious. There was no bath just a shower only, the bed looks very old and haggard with no mattress cover and looks very cheap. Went to make... More
