I was terribly disappointed with this hotel. It needs a massive overhaul as of yesterday. The corridors are bad enough (2nd floor anyway) but the vast room was in a shocking state. The matress was all but destroyed, there were other people's hairs around my sink and, to make matters worse, there was absolutely no wi fi on the public... More

Be sure to get a room at the rear of the hotel as the noise from the canal side restaurants will keep you awake. Access awkward but they were refurbishing the underground car park nearby during our stay. Everything is rather tired. I gather the hotel is due to be refurbished and it can't come soon enough. Threadbare carpets held... More

We stayed at the Ramada one night as the location is ideal for the Cube. I have to say that having read the reviews I was not expecting anything particularly good, however I was pleasantly surprised. Certainly there are parts of the hotel that are desperately in need of some refurbishment, but our room was not one of them, it... More

I just recently stayed at the Ramada and I was not impressed at all. As soon as you enter the hall way it did not look good at all and entering the room there was a weird smell. I was not impressed when walking into my room, it looked cheap!!! All of the furnishing was out of date and looked... More

Booked this hotel for a one night stay with friends. Location was perfect for us as we went out in the Mailbox and Brindley place. Reception staff were fantastic, very quick, well organised and friendly. The room was clean, but a little tired. The mattress was very old and squashed. The communal areas were also very shabby- carpet dirty and... More

We were staying in Birmingham as we were going to the theater. The staff were OK but wrote '320' on our room card, we then spent 20 mins trying to find a room which didn't exist! When we eventually found '520' (after a trip back down to reception!) the first thing we noticed was an acrid smell of stale cigarettes.... More

This is something I wish we'd known before we arrived... how to get there! We printed maps and directions off the internet but truthfully, they were no help at all, so, if arriving by train, follow our advice and you'll be there in minutes. Exit New St Station and turn left. Walk to the crossing and keep on. When you... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a saturday night out in The Cube. Location was spot on to be honest with all the bars and restaurants on the doorstep. The hotel itself could do with little updating but it was clean and everything you need for a comfortable stay. Staff were helpful and polite and I couldnt really moan... More

Stayed for one night on a business trip. Pros: the room was a decent size, and everything worked. The bed was comfortable enough, and the pillows plump. There is no air con, but a decent fan was provided. A sachet of ground coffee was provided, as well as instant ( and tea as you would expect.)The breakfast was adequate, but... More
