Not much to add to all the other reviews. I booked Ibis as I have used the chain many times travelling in France and a few times in the UK and have always been satisfied. This place is however in a league of it's own - the bottom league that is. The rooms are old, dingy, stink of tobacco smoke... more

Really awful hotel on the edge of the city centre. Small dated dark bedrooms which smell of cig smoke, dirty carpets, poor quality bathrooms and dismal breakfast facilities. Etap next door is part of the same chain but is better and even cheaper. There was a queue of guests complaining in the morning, so it took ages to check out... more

Located in the middle of nowhere, though close to the city center. Noisy, cold, hardly clean. Toilet rolls and shower gel missing at arrival! Asked staff to change a faulty light-bulb : a young member of staff spent 15min in our room at 9PM trying to fix it, while our 4 years old son was sleeping....and never made it. Not... more

I stayed here for two nights with my partner who was attending an exhibition at the NEC. Birmingham New Street Station is a 2 minute walk and then the train to the NEC takes about 10 minutes. So convenient and the hotel is great value. We took our puppy along as the hotel accepts pets and the staff even looked... more

I remember a friend saying he stayed there as a close location to the club he was attending that night. That's all he said on the matter. When i arrived i was greeted by a huge prison style gate, which i do admit did kind of make me feel secure about leaving my new car there at first, but after... more

Booked for one night stay .. Outlined requirements as requested on internet site ... Non smoking, twin room, (That's all nothing special) Only to arrive to a MOTEL with high security fence surrounding it .. (nearly have to be a commando to find the entrance) .. and staff that were incapable of using a computer Ended up in a freezer... more

Stayed for one night purely to save having to get a taxi home - probably should have paid the extra for the taxi really! Very unattractive hotel with high security gates and despite only being a 5 min walk from the centre of Brum we still took a taxi as didn't feel safe walking the local streets. Having stayed at... more

Ibis has been on the up for a while now in the budget hotel stakes but this one really lets the side down. The hotel looks like a 1960s holiday camp inside a prison block. High security fencing and shabby buildings are the order of the day here. The rooms have not been refurbished like other Ibis hotels and although... more

I have stayed at Ibis before and was very happy with the accomodation and facilities provided, however this place really is poor! I was here on a trip with my partner to see a show, I think she thought I was taking the P when she saw the room and I think it spoiled her weekend. Along with the dirt... more
