I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times now and always found it to be ok, the hotel itself is about a twenty minutes walk from the city centre, all staff are polite and friendly, the room was clean and tidy with a wide selection of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits, the bathroom was clean with an... Stayed 2 night while visiting Christmas market. There is plenty of free parking at the hotel and it is on the main road into the city centre. Buses are frequent and stop outside, staff were also great at arranging taxis. Even though the hotel is on a main road, we were not disturbed by any noise. The main part of... More

Nice hotel at decent price. The building has great character. I loved the dining room with the beautiful wood panelling. Been a beautiful house in the past. Location good half way up Hagley Road not far from Botanic Garden, and a bracing walk to Broad Street. Good restaurants very walkable however, nearby including TGI and Akbars Staff in the hotel... A group of us stayed at the hotel to visit the Foid Show at the NEC, we arrived at 10 and left our cars in the car park, friendly hotel staff booked taxis for us and couldn't have been more helpful. We returned back at 730 after a long day to check in. Some of the areas going to the... More

We took a group of 8 primary school children to stay at the hotel. The staff were extremely helpfully in sorting appropriate rooms within the hotel for the girls, so that we were all together. The rooms were clean and tidy. Throughout our stay the staff were consistently helpful and made sure the girls were happy. Breakfast was lovely and... More

No major problems with the hotel. No issues similar to other reviewers on checking in, was fairly smooth for us. Room size not huge but I have stayed in much smaller, no issues with cleanliness in either the room or bathroom. As other reviewers have noted, sound carries a lot in this place, was woken up at 5am everyday by... More

I booked this through hotels.com, and they should share blame with the hotel for this bad experience. On arrival I was asked to produce photo ID, which I did not have with me. I was told that I would not be able to check in. This is in spite of the fact that I had already PAID FOR the room... More

So it's my 21st birthday I walk in and they make you immediately sign paper that you will not bring alcohol in or you get charged for each room alcohol is found in. They then tell you your not allowed food or other soft drinks. Then they say check out is 11 which is okay but it's a charge of... More

Lots of free parking which is rare in Birmingham. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and functional rooms. The water pressure was not good enough for the shower to work, but the bath was enjoyable. There is a lot of building work going on next door which may resolve the problem. Breakfast choice was very good and at just... More
