I have stayed several times, most recently in August for the T20 finals day, it was my third time staying. Rooms are fantastic, superb shower facilities. Breakfast is wonderful, lots on offer and so its so cheap! A nice bar if you fancy an evening drink, which isn't too expensive either. The staff are lovely and always so helpful, even... More

I took my partner here for his birthday as a surprise. We were greeted with friendly welcoming staff and showed to our room. It was decorated to high standard really spacious. We went for afternoon tea which was really lovely food and service second to none. The decor in hotel is well thought out its like going back in time... More

Single room tiny not enough room to move, saying that it was clean, walls had been re painted, bathroom spotless, towels changed everyday. 3 star but should be two star. The owners just need to spend a little money on replacing the carpets in the rooms and public areas, as well as a paint job. Noises with people coming and... More

Second visit to Birmingham but first stay. Booked online.Single room is too small for comfort and quickly changed to a double room. Luckily, the staff were co-operative. It is a very nice property almost a heritage and location wise it is pretty good. Being an Indian and a veggie, this hotel had lots of restaurants in close proximity. Wi-fi free... More

I stayed here for one night when the city centre hotels were unusually pricey ( maybe because it was just after the rugby World Cup). This is how hotels were in the 70s and 80s - stained carpets in corridors smelling of shake n vac, tiny rooms, a pretty horrible breakfast. I would not return.

My partner and I, along with two other couples booked to stay here as we planned to go out in Birmingham for NYE celebrations. We booked in advance and requested that the 3 double rooms we had booked were placed next to each other. I called the day before we were due to check in and the person who answered... More

We were given a room that was not cleaned. When we went back to report at the reception, the team did not seem to realise. We were then given another room. At night, the place was noisy. On our last day, there was no hot water!!! Tried to talk to the receptionist about this but she did not seem bothered.... More

Part of a large family group booked in for a celebration in the function room with about 20 rooms booked for the same night. Many of the overnight guests arrived at lunchtime admittedly before checkin expecting to use the bar, but we were told that it doesn't open until 3.00(?) in line with checkin. They said that there was no... More

Hotel staff were really helpful. Room a little tired with a cracked sink, fire alarm without a cover leaving exposed wires and beds/pillows lumpy and hard. Tv and plenty of tea/coffee provided in the room. Plenty of storage space. Easy access to public transport to the city centre. Free wifi (password given at check in). Main issue was with the... Loved the look of the place, however it could do so much better with a few changes here and there. The bed was definitely lumpy and needs a new mattress, looking up at the ceiling the smoke alarm needed a cover it was just exposed wires and the tv remote didn't work at all. The seating in the reception needed... More
