Pleasantly surprised by standard of hotel and staff. Reception staff professional and friendly. Restaurant staff welcoming and efficient. The hotel was not busy, so this may have helped with efficiency. Our room was small, but perfectly adequate for a weekend stay and spotlessly clean and very well equipped. It was in a new(ish) extension at the back of the hotel... more

Duration of visit - 1 night stay over on business Experience Positive - Friendly staff , clean room. Negative - Was informed the chef was indian and could cook authentic food. Wrong. Food was awful - jar/packet type curry. Also after 20 minutes returning to room I was as sick as I have ever been, diarrhoea and vomiting.which stayed with... more

Had to ring up TWICE to get email confirmation of booking. No mention on the website about all the scaffolding up around the 'hotel'. Rooms looked good - initially - then found cobwebs, cracks up the walls, TV's that weren't tuned to channels and smashed sink in bathroom (of a family room - not very safe!) Another room left their... more

Stay here reguarly (average twice per week) when in Birmingham on business. The hotel rooms are clean & Comfortable, a good size with a seperate bathroom and plenty of storage space. Staff are always friendly and efficient and the food in the restaurant /bar is good. The only negative I have is the rooms at the front let in a... more

£55. No flexibility on check out time. No breakfast. No non-smoking option. The electronic key doesn't work. Bored desk clerk opens it for you and tells you to try harder. Shoebox room with scuffed walls. The tap comes off in the sink. The heating is jammed on full. Window won't open. Later... the door still won't work. Bored desk clerk... more

Having booked a triple room for only £75 per night including breakfast I honestly was not expecting great things and certainly didn't expect to be singing its praise of this website! The room turned out to be two ajoining rooms with a modern bathoom and modern, tiny kitchen (with sink and integral fridge). It was certainly not a four star... more

I don't normally complain about hotels but, in this case, I am making an exception. I stayed at this hotel, on business, on 24/25 September 2008. The main problem was noise during the night, not from other guests (the hotel was pretty much empty), but from the reception area where, it seems, the night staff like to play the music... more

Hotel welcoming and clean, good first impression. The room was a good sized double with a modern en suite. The room had a view of the somewhat unkept courtyard area that many rooms overlooked. The location is easily found and a few minutes drive from the city centre. However......if you are looking for a good nights sleep STAY AWAY! The bar... more

This hotel is not right in Brum centre but is on major bus route, so that's no prob. A taxi to Broadstreet cost about £8 (but this was at 3am so probably cheaper in the day). The hotel itself is clean and the room was really nice. We had a family room but it had a double and two singles,... more
