This is one of Birmingham's original grand hotels boasting a secret network of tunnels (now sadly closed) from the close by New Street train station. An excellent all round hotel with exceptionally attentive staff. I really can't say too much about the friendliness of the staff. One hundred metres from the new entrance to New Street station it couldn't be more central - right in the middle of the pedestrianized city centre area.
