This hotel does exactly what it says on the tin. Rooms are equipped with a double bed, bedside table, tv and shower/toilets. No frills but extremely comfy bed and very clean equipment/bedding. Stayed for one night and only wanted somewhere to sleep/shower so ideal. Would definitely stay again.

Thank you for your review. The Team at Birmingham work very hard to maintain standards of cleanliness for the hotel. I'm glad to hear that the hotel suited your needs. More

Just returned home after two night in Bloc - Birmingham. Greeted by friendly, helpful staff (I am deaf - so this matters to me); room clean, functioning (everything worked - inc. subtitles on TV!) & quiet. In short, nothing I could pull them up on. If you want a vast room with lots of surplus furniture, then this is NOT... More

We booked the bloc so we were in walking distance of the Jewellery Quarter. The room was nice and clean. Every thing in the hotel was square, the receptionist was very helpful. The room was small and cosy, the bathroom was unusual. We will stay there again.

Interesting concept. If you only need a hotel room for a couple of nights, and your requirement is for a base rather than a room to lounge in, then the bloc offers excellent value for money - comfort, modern styling and clean. The bed occupies about have the space; the bathroom provided a walk in shower, small basin and WC... More

Stayed in a superior room (with window). Very comfortable bed. Loved the simple room set-up. Great walk-in shower. Would have liked a kettle, there's a vending machine in the reception but it's not the same. Great location in Birmingham, lots of independent cafes nearby for breakfast.

Thank you for your review. It's always nice to read reviews from people who have not stayed at BLOC before. I hope you took advantage of the discounts that we can offer our guests in the local restaurants and coffee shops. These can be found in the 'Around the Bloc' guide in your bedroom. More

Very modern hotel in the Jewelry quarter. Easy 15 minute stroll to the Bullring and 20 minutes drive to the NEC / Airport (in the morning as you drive against the rush hour flow - it may be over an hour in the evening rush hour with traffic leaving the city). Cheap 24 hour parking for £5.50 for 24 hours... More

One of the reasons BLOC opened in the Jewellery Quarter was for its fantastic location. Like you mention, the hotel is very near to some fantastic restaurants, walking distance to the city centre and Bull Ring and is close to transport hubs to get you to places like the NEC or Birmingham Airport. Next time you stay please try a... More

This was the second time we have stayed at the bloc and we love it! For the money this is the best place you could stay in Birmingham, although we'd recommend paying a little extra for a window. The decor is cool, the bed surprisingly big for a compact room, and the combined loo and wetroom works well, but remember... More

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The staff were very friendly, helping + understanding as I had a little problem with payment. The rooms were to a very high standard. They were spotless, the beds were so comfy. I lobed the walk in shower which made things easy for me. I was abit disappointed with the breakfast option... More

I stayed at the hotel overnight last week for a work function and was really pleasantly surprised. The reception area was clean & stylish (a good sign!) with friendly staff and the rooms were just as good. The bed was really comfortable and I liked the decor and the wetroom style bathroom too. It was slightly annoying not to have... More

In general I liked Bloc Hotel and would return there although the lack of a window was strange to me. The location was good, because I went to a gig in nearby Actress and Bishop and the city center is up to 10 min by foot. The room was clean, the bathroom was very nice, the comfortable bed and nice... More

Next time you stay you should try booking a room with a window to see which you prefer. There is normally £5 difference between the room two room types. Thank you for taking the time to write your review. More
