We just wanted a decent bed for the night, Bloc was perfect! It's in a nice area and the room is small but perfectly formed with a lovely bathroom. We had a room without a window as we were only there at night anyway, so that didn't bother us. It was cosy, the bed felt bigger than an average double... More

A very nice, modern, stylish, cosy and clean place. In addition the beds are very good and I had a good night sleep. I can definitely recommend that place. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the noise level was below average. I would come again.

My girlfriend booked this hotel for a weekend in Birmingham (to go to a gig/ Christmas shopping). I was really impressed with this hotel. The room was tiny... But without making me feel claustrophobic. The use of space makes it feel quite cosy but while remaining stylish. Main plus points of this hotel are: *It cost roughly the same as... More

This is the second time I have stayed at Bloc Hotel Birmingham. I usually work all day, arrange to meet a friend for dinner then up early to the local gym for me a basic room is perfect. Both times the rooms have been clean and the beds and pillows comfortable. Would recommend to anyone who just needs a clean,... More

I have two positives to say about this hotel, one being the design is modern, the second is that the bed was comfortable and large, however the large bed did cme at the expense of standing up in the room itself. I have never stayed in a hotel room so small, if you add this to the lack of lghting... More

Although the room was clean and modern, it was extremely small and basic things you expect was not there. The biggest problem was the lighting even in daytime- it was extremely dark and you couldn't see yourself properly in mirror which might I say were not positioned in the most convent places I.e. In the dark entrance and in a... More

Thank you for your review. I'm sorry you felt as though the hotel lacked some of the basic needs that you mentioned in your review. Hopefully you mentioned the air-conditioning within your room to reception so they could check this, as you can either have it cool or it can be used to heat room. More

I stayed for 6 nights and the hotel did everything I needed it to. The Rooms are small but perfectly formed, and unlike other hotels in a similar style I've stayed at in the past, the design of both the building and the rooms is very well thought out with some very neat little details. The location is great, with... More

Lovely hotel for the price you pay very clean and simple design. Watch out for the private car park at the back of the hotel. If you don't pay within ten mins of arriving it will fine you and the machine doesn't take notes so don't go off looking for change!! It charges ten pound for 24 hrs so you... More

Thank you for your review. The car park you mention is not the car park that BLOC Birmingham has a deal with for its customers. BLOC hotel guests can use the local NCP car park which is 2 minutes walk from the hotel which costs £5.50 for 24hrs. Should you stay again and need directions to the NCP, reception will... More

You are told when you book that the rooms are small and they do have everything you need. I found my room comfortable and well appointed. For the geeks, I counted four sockets around the room (two next to the bed, two near the floor level opposite the bathroom door). The hotel past the bath sheet test (I"m large and... More
