I've stayed in some ropey places in my time and normally I'd just suck it up and get on with it but this one really did cross a line. Well lines really!! I chose this 'hotel'; (it's not it's a B&B and a terrible one at that) because it is very close to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where I am... More

Firstly driving up the hill to get to this hotel gave me great expectation, but welcomed by unsurfaced road, dying plants that looked unkempt & the main door having wood chipped off it made me feel strange about my stay & then walking in made it a little better until i discovered how dusty the Red Carpet the hotel was... My husband and I stayed 3 nights at the Awentsbury Hotel and found the hotel, the room, the grounds, and the area quite attractive and pleasant. Our room was spacious with large windows for light and fresh air as well as being able to hear the birds chirping. Our room was en suite which we prefer and had everything we... More

This place is worse than Fawlty towers. On arriving you are greeted with what should have been once a nice hotel. In a lovely area with the possibilities of a nice garden. Unfortunately that is where it stops. The lady owner has extremely poor communication skills and it was trying to get blood out of a stone where the shower... More

I booked this hotel because it was the only one near an event I was attending so I didn't check out the reviews first and I really wish I'd just forked out the money to stay somewhere central and paid for a taxi because this is one of the worst hotels I've ever had the misfortune to stay in. When... More

Ian K, Manager at Awentsbury Hotel Birmingham, responded to this review

There was a slight delay in dealing with this guest as two separate guest had checked in at the same time . We have to mention payment at check in as so many guests who book on line and give their card details assume that the room is prepaid. This is beyond our control and booking.com and others should make... More

The owner was weird and unwelcoming, we got the impression we were causing great inconvenience by paying way over the odds to stay in what might as well have been her spare room. The room itself was fairly dismal and needed redecorating. You could hear the neighbours talking through the walls (in normal indoor voices). The extractor fan in the... More

Hotel is in a old house. The room as well as the breakfast room where freezing cold! Room was small but all clean. The bed was good! I had a room with bath, bath was very small but also clean. In my opinion, the Price was too high for the room... Staff was friendly.

Like previous comments I've seen, no way should this be classed as a Hotel. It is an old converted house. I made a mistake by not reading the small print and ended up with a shared bathroom. Bedroom: quite large, containing 1 double bed, 2 bedside tables, a sink and something bolted to the wall for hanging clothes on. As... More

Stayed here for one night one before attending a wedding. In truth you can stay somewhere more modern and welcoming for the price, the rooms were tired (but clean), but the bathrooms were on a landing outside and were not inviting at all. Was woken more than once by people coming in across the noisy landings, although to be fair... More
