Upon entering the reception area I was quite surprised to see how posh and smart it look considering I only paid £38 for the room. The receptionist was very friendly and polite and explained everything we needed to know about our stay (or so we thought). We were given our room number and room key and we headed off to... More

Stayed over xmas. Very cheap hotel with free parking and free wifi. Good location as a base to commute into harborne or the centre. Hotel is right next to lots of restaurants (beefeater, indian food, Italian food etc). The receptionist is friendly. Room was clean. Radiator worked. There was an iron in the room. Now the not so good points... More

Since my previous visit in May, this hotel is (still !) being renovated, and the recently refurbished bedrooms have nice contemporary décor with new furniture and beds, large flat-screen TV, hair dryer, and completely upgraded en-suite bathroom with shower, and internally lit over-sink mirror. My room was on the rear of the1st floor, and my only complaint was a level... More

When writing any kind of review I have to be as open and as honest as I can. I do this without trying to sound derogatory or indeed offensive; the bottom line is any establishment wants and needs constructive criticism in order to become better. This is not your upmarket Hotel, it’s what I call ‘cheap and cheerful’ – on... More

Stayed here on Saturday 22nd November. As others have said it's more of a motel really. If you book in advance you can get a good deal, I booked through Venere.com and paid £56 inc breakfast for 2. The room (ground floor) was dated, stains on carpet, wallpaper ripped in places, bed was OK-ish but had sheet and blanket, they... More

Decided to stay at hotel as was group of us staying here, as group of us meeting up. My room was on ground level short walk from reception. Rooms are in blocks and accessed from the... More

One of my children is studying in Birmingham so I have had to visit the city a lot over the last 2 years staying in a number of different hotels. I have stayed at the Apollo on 3 occasions now. The hotel is more of a motel with the entrances to the rooms outside. The rooms are clean and comfortable.... More

It was a terrible place to stay (certainly nothing like the pictures 'suggest' for a start.) While the beds were not the worst, the constant slamming of a fire door as people were coming and going through the night made sleep impossible. I'm not certain if this was because people were arriving/leaving through the night, or late night smokers. However... More
