I recently stayed at this hotel, regardless of reading bad reviews. Everyone has their own expectations so i thought i would give it chance. The hotel was easy to find, and planty of parking was available. (free too which was a bonus). Check in was quick and easy, and the staff were very friendly. I found my room to be... more

The Apollo is not a Marriott or Hilton, so don’t expect such. The room was clean, though small, and there was very little closet or drawer space. There was a table/desk and a couple of chairs, with a hair dryer in the desk drawer. We lived out of our suitcases for the time we were there. The furnishings were dated... more

I stayed on a business trip and couldn't have been more disappointed. It was very cheap and you can see why when you get there. I found it drab, dirty, damp, smokey and noisy. I'm pleased I didn't have to pay for it myself and couldn't wait to leave. The staff however were very polite and helpful and I couldn't... more

I am surprised to see so many bad comments about this place. I went there over a year ago with a friend from Bristol and we had a fantastic time in birmingham. The front desk staff is pleasant enough, comfys beds, clean bathroom with bathtub. They wouldnt serve food after 10 pm when we asked but they gave us take away menus and... more

Although this is a budget hotel, it really is not worth the money. The building resembles a council estate andtrying to findmy room wasa real challenge via 2 staircases and various corridors. The building was over heated and tatty. The bedroom was grubby and far too hot. The walls were paper thin so I could hear the next door occupants... more

We took the Executive Room, you definitely wouldn't want their basic rooms. The room was clean, comfortable and well maintained - nothing exceptional but certainly OK for a few nights in town. There are direct bus routes into the city and taxies arrive within a few minutes when called by reception. The breakfast was a buffet hel yourself type of... more

Booked this hotel as I was attending a conference in Birmingham. When I booked I was very clear that as I'm heavily pregnant I'm easily disturbed at night and need a quiet room. When I arrived (late evening) I found I had been put in a 3rd floor room (no problem) but on a major crossroads! I went to reception... more

Upon making our online booking we were made aware that we were receiving a 55% discount on our room (executive double) which appeared to be a good deal with the rooms including wireless access, unlimited tea and coffee, a jacuzzi and a range of other facilities. However upon arrival it quickly became apparent that these were all just ploys to... more

We found this a basically good place to lay your head for the night. Bedrooms small but clean. Shower/bath good and hot, bed comfy. Unlike many far grander hotels it had a dressing table with a mirror and stool which my wife appreciated. No fridge but hair dryer trouser press TV etc. The breakfast though nothing fancy was more than... more

The room was damp, it smelt really strong of dampness. The bedding was dirty and bubbly. The carpet was horrible. The only good thing was that the staff wer really friendly. It was overall very dissapointing. more
