Since my previous visit in May, this hotel is (still !) being renovated, and the recently refurbished bedrooms have nice contemporary décor with new furniture and beds, large flat-screen TV, hair dryer, and completely upgraded en-suite bathroom with shower, and internally lit over-sink mirror. My room was on the rear of the1st floor, and my only complaint was a level... More

When writing any kind of review I have to be as open and as honest as I can. I do this without trying to sound derogatory or indeed offensive; the bottom line is any establishment wants and needs constructive criticism in order to become better. This is not your upmarket Hotel, it’s what I call ‘cheap and cheerful’ – on... More

Stayed here on Saturday 22nd November. As others have said it's more of a motel really. If you book in advance you can get a good deal, I booked through Venere.com and paid £56 inc breakfast for 2. The room (ground floor) was dated, stains on carpet, wallpaper ripped in places, bed was OK-ish but had sheet and blanket, they... More

Dear all, I will be honest and truthful with my review. Paid £55 for twin room with bed & breakfast for Saturday night stay. Decided to stay at hotel as was group of us staying here, as group of us meeting up. My room was on ground level short walk from reception. Rooms are in blocks and accessed from the... More

One of my children is studying in Birmingham so I have had to visit the city a lot over the last 2 years staying in a number of different hotels. I have stayed at the Apollo on 3 occasions now. The hotel is more of a motel with the entrances to the rooms outside. The rooms are clean and comfortable.... More

It was a terrible place to stay (certainly nothing like the pictures 'suggest' for a start.) While the beds were not the worst, the constant slamming of a fire door as people were coming and going through the night made sleep impossible. I'm not certain if this was because people were arriving/leaving through the night, or late night smokers. However... More

Decided to book this place last minute - based on what Hotels.com told me (that apparently this hotel has a 99% recommendation)....what a mistake. A total waste of £110. The rooms had wallpaper falling off, really old fleece blankets that were worn down etc etc. But over and above all else, the mattress was a complete joke. I had the... More

I should point out that we paid £39 for the room and the review is based on this. It was a Saturday night and the cheapest about when we booked a few weeks before hand. The hotel is a fair way from the town, a 25 minute work to the NIA or so. The staff were polite on arrival and... More

Good afternoon. I was very disappointed with my stay at the Apollo hotel. We made our journey from Milton Keynes to Birmingham as it was a spare of the moment situation. As I was celebrating my birthday. We tried several hotels along the strip and then we were recommended to the Apollo. On arrival we were greeted with a group... More

We stayed at the Apollo for a few hours, the hotel was a last resort referral after a shock horror of being stranded on a night out. The rooms were priced at £110 for twin rooms including breakfast so we were expecting something worth the money . We booked two rooms and took off to check them out. on the... More
