...expected the worst after reading the reviews. In fact the welcome and the room were fine. I was on the front of the hotel facing the road but the double glazing really reduced the noise. The noise was not a problem. I would certainly consider staying there again more

This was our first trip to Birmingham, we visited The Apollo as we were going to the NEC. There was ample free parking, something hard to find in Birmingham. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The room was quite big and clean. We walked into Birmingham the first night which took us fifteen minutes but taxi cost less than... more

We booked through millions of rooms.com and got a bargain at £30 which included full english for 2 of us. Do not book direct with hotel as same room would of cost us £115 without breakfast which was £11 and would not of been happy!!! Hotel its more like a Motel (faulty towers) it looks like its been bedsits converted... more

The reception staff were completely dis-interested, there were only three spot lights in the room - could hardly see where we were going, no central light at all. Bed was awful - springs in our backs. The curtains hardly met in the middle, telly was tiny and reception varied. Restaurant staff at breakfast did not care where you sat and... more

I travelled here 1st Dec & stayed for 2nts for business meetings etc. Check-in was fine, room was all pre-paid for. Picked this hotel because it was on offer - £56 for 2nts single room. As I arrived late I went straight to my room to sleep, my room was SO cold & the heating didn't work!!! Bed was comfortable-ish... more

More like a roadside motel feel than a hotel feel. Mildew in the bathroom, peeling paint on the cieling, mould on the shower curtain etc. When my hair dryer didn't work the only solution they could offer was for me to use a built in hairdryer in another room... outside and down the road... more

One of the worst hotel I have ever seen in my life! The rooms are old, smelling of tobacco and other things, cold, with old furniture. You have to cross a street for entering in your room. No internet connection in the room. The service is polite but totally not professional. The hotel is far from the centre of the... more
