Stayed with a friend overnight, central and sort distance to O2 academy, our reason for visit. Staff friendly, nice oldy worldy feel. Decent buffet style breakfast for additional £7.50 including full English. Rooms were in newer but dated part if building, quite shabby and needed some modernising. Twin room, though clean with nice powerful shower, could have done with updating... More

The hotel itself offers everything you'd expect. What stands out is the hotel staff - amazing service from Hanar and James. They've looked after us throughout the whole stay. You couldn't ask for more, especially after getting a drink from a beautiful lady with a perfect smile!

I stayed here for a week on business, I must say that the food is lush, the beds are comfy and every corner you turn you find an array of interior design that is pleasing to the eye. Two members of our staff, Gloria at breakfast, and James in the evening have both got wonderful customer service and are a... More

The main building is beautiful and we thought we'd found a real gem when we walked in. The receptionist was quite unwelcoming and advised us our room was up two flights of stairs and at the far end of the corridor. I have a disability that makes walking and stairs difficult. The receptionist told me "you'll be fine. Actually there... More

Arrived 25th Jan 2016. Although room clean and tidy furniture is very dated. Old part of the hotel is quaint but the new part is indescribable. In need of serious remodernisation. Staff are pleasant and attentive. Good selection of food both A LA Carte and bar snacks. Access to Birmingham City is good from a local bus stop. Not worthy... More

Poor standard of decoration in bedroom- needs updating. Noisy central heating kept me awake. Long corridors similar to a rabbit warren. Staff were friendly & helpful. Breakfast was ok with a variety of choice. Bar food was average. I wouldn't recommend.

Stayed for one night on business. Usually stay at the Strathallan further up the road with no complaints but decided to give this a go. Big mistake. Poor, old fashioned room (I understand it's an old building but the bed shouldn't feel like they're the same age). Torn sheet, a feeble excuse for an early 80s hair dryer in the... More

I went for a themed event with friends. Check in by Carly was a smooth process. The hotel has no lifts and there was a long walk to the bedroom. One of us has a mobility issue and was offered assistance with luggage. There was no information on the hotel website that tells you there is no lift and long... More

This is a strange hotel. It looks good from the outside. Inside some parts are modern but once past the bar and reception the hotel and the rooms have a dated feel and need a good facelift. Having said that the room, after quite a walk, was quiet and I had a good, comfortable sleep..better than many places. Again a... More
