Marlene and Michael are great hosts, nothing too much trouble. Room was very comfortable, breakfast was perfect. Could not have asked for more. Didn't find great restaurants in the area and parking wasn't absolutely ideal. But if you want to be made welcome and have a great night's sleep which doesn't break the bank, there is NO better place.

I stayed two nights to visit a trade show at the NEC. Michael and Marlene were friendly and welcoming hosts. The mix regular guests with one off like myself with ease. Parking was welcome, I was glad not to have my large estate, as its in front of the guest house, and so space is limited. I appreciated another reviewers... More

I stayed here several nights a week for several months when working nearby. Would I have done so if it didn't suit? Marlene & Michael are great and cooked breakfasts are super. I soon learned that the nearest eating places were not really to my tastes (or purse) so made short detours after work. The only snag I found was... More

How can one start to describe Central Guest House? Nitpickers look away now - you will always find something to whinge about - for us, whilst not the most wonderful thing in the world to have happened to us, it was a lovely stay to remember. The room was spotless, bright and airy, there was a trouser press, ironing board... More

I spent one night at the Central Guest House and I have to say it was a very good experience. The room was perfect for my needs, soft bed, clean and tidy, plenty of towels, hot shower and a warm room. The guesthouse was located near to plenty of places to eat with a large shopping centre across the road... More

I spent 2 nights at the Central when visiting Birmingham. I was warmly welcomed by both Marlene & Michael the owners. My room was clean and comfortable the ensuite was fine with large soft bath sheets as well as hand towels and breakfast had choices to suit everyone. Although I didn't have a cooked breakfast I did see one that... More

Room was a little dated but very clean. Owners were very friendly and answered our queries via email. Shame the only place to have an evening meal or a pint is the Peachey Keen's but we can't blame them for that. Breakfast was very good and made to order. Rooms were a good size. Bus stop practially outside to go... More

Have stayed on many occasions over past 6 years. Warm, comfortable and pleasant accommodation. The proprietors Michael and Marlene cannot do enough to please and are so welcoming. Cannot understand the negative reviews. Some people are never satisfied. I have stayed at expensive hotels with crap service, poor standard of food and negative attitudes. The furniture may be basic but... More
