Stayed here with my partner as we have a few Britannia hotels, its what it says good locations and price The reception staff were very good got the room I asked for when I rang in advance . Yes the decor is dated but who cares when you want a nights sleep. The bed was as comfortable as any higher... More

What a dump. Despite good location and very cheap price this is not a place I want to come back to. Minute single room with hardly any light through the little window. Walls painted pea green with a grimy red curtain. The tv was ancient with half the controls not working. Only a handful of channels anyway. Nothing positive to... More

I thought £85 a night double room inc breakfast wasn't bad with short notice. Had an old haunted feel of neglect to it but we were too tired to care. My bedroom was clean enough but my colleagues room had nasty unmentionables in it and clearly hadn't been cleaned! The hotel in general needed a bit of TLC. The thing... More

Reading the reviews I hoped and prayed it would be "that bad" but how wrong was I!! It was awful. Don't often swear but it's a 💩hole but it's cheap and it's perfectly located for all the shops, cinema and restaurants (recommend Ming moon 100%) It's not the cleaners fault it is management/owners fault no wonder some of the staff... Stayed one night and that was one too many. I was propositioned twice on the way to my room twice by drunks who thought a single woman must be one of the professional ladies who use the hotel on a regular basis. The corridor was dark and the place gave me the creeps but I didn't know where else I... More

I was expecting it to be bad after reading reviews bit needs must and it was cheap .. the most dated and depressive place I have ever stayed in ! staff were lovely Room was filthy..carpets covered in dust and the furniture too , decor was aweful with a very comical boss eyed marylin Monroe canvas on the wall oh... Where do you start! Rooms are probably one of the worst I have ever stayed in, and I stay in a lot of hotels. Stains all over the carpets, mould in certain areas, loads of tiny insects crawling around in the bath and most disgusting of all dirt from previous customers 'nose' (if you know what I mean) crusted to... Stayed here in a group of 8 for my stag do. It didn't cost very much and it did it's job. Located close to the train station and high street so ideal location for what we wanted! The lady on the bar upstairs was very polite and friendly, especially at happy hour! It's not the place I'd take the Mrs... More

Stayed here last week for one of the party conferences. On the plus side the location is great, right opposite Birmingham New Street station and the reception smelt of the Lush shop next door. On the minus side: The queue for check in was enormous - they knew they were full for the conference and that everyone would arrive at... More

The hotel, like other Britannia Hotels, are at the budget end of the market, so anyone expecting 5* quality room will be disappointed. The hotel is 10 minutes walk from New Street railway station, i would estimate it would take 30 minutes walk from the National Coach station, and Moor Street railway station. My only gripe would be the lack... More
