My daughter & I stayed here for one night. The hotel is in a great central position for New Street Station, Bullring and places to eat - all within easy walking distance. My daughter went to a gig at 'The Institute', again an easily accessible venue from this hotel. The hotel is opposite New Street Station where major refurbishment is... More

Affordably priced hotel for people who want to escape the confines of backpacking and sharing bathrooms, rooms and kitchens, but still do not want the expense of a fully-fledged hotel. Heaps of nice eating places near by; especially the kebab shop down near the entrance. Very convenient location: literally next door to the train station and walking distance to the... More

This hotel is not salubrious by any means. Its passed its sell by date for fair wear and tear. The bedroom we stayed in 309 was reasonably spacious apart from the 3mm of dirt and dust on the window frames outside of the secondary glazing, other than this its was clean and tidy, bathroom was okay better than Hotel du... I receently spent a few days working at this hotel in one of their conference rooms. The staff were friendly but the hotel itself was very dirty and needed a really good clean. The public toilets were very dirty. The water for the tea and coffee was brown and that was before we put any tea or coffee in in.... More

I didn't mind that the hotel was dated, but what I did mind was the filth. Arrived late at night and was looking forward to a hot shower, utterly repulsed by the bathroom. Filthy floor, filthy shower, someone else's rubbish in the bin. The room had stains all over the ceiling and smelled damp. There was wallpaper peeling from the... More

Friendly receptionist but that was the only good part! Out of date, grimy, damp smelling room, delapidated bathroom, worn out bed and linen. We read the bad reviews but decided to give it a try anyway. The road was shut due to roadworks which made it very difficult to find and parking nearby proved to be a dilemma.Upon entry to... More

Excellent hotel. Very basic but that was expected when paying only £33 to be right in the centre of birmingham. Had a great sleep, very quiet even though we were near the building works. Only annoying thing was the expensive wifi, would have made it perfect if that had been free as it is with most hotels these days. but... More

I had a one-night stay for a business trip to Birmingham and I wanted somewhere very close to New Street Station. I pre-booked and paid £46.80 for a single room on a Friday night (breakfast was extra). The hotel is right opposite the station. Desk service was helpful and polite and everything was in order. The lift is functional. My... More

I would give this 2.5 stars really for ok as it was not awful, there should be more choice of ratings. Good things about this hotel are: it is very cheap, I booked for £35 for one night, not including breakfast. It is very near the station and the main centre of Birmingham, just round the back of the station... More

My room had torn net curtains with one window not having a curtain at all so I had to use the runners off the bed to place at the window. The dirt on my radiator was unbelievable don't think it had been cleaned for years. The train station is being updated and the building works were right outside my single... More
