If you're looking to be woken up at 6 in the morning by construction and building workers then already you're onto a winner. The room is no bigger than a closet with a smell that suggests it hasn't been cleaned and no clean towels each day which makes me wonder what else hasn't been changed. On the first night I... More

Got to my room after a day watching the cricket and shower was freezing. No hot water at all. The room tiny for someone who is 6ft2, sloping ceilings. Attitude from receptionist was poor. No attempt to sort anything or apologise. If most other places in Birmingham centre weren't full id move out. AVOID! Room 406

Polite staff, cheap rates! That's it! Next time I'll stick to my £100 minimum spend and avoid Comfort Inns as this one was dirty, the bed was terrible, shower water pressure (no pressure). The street its on is dodgy to say the least- best left avoided for a nicer nights actual sleep else where

Ok... It is cheap; so I guess you get what you pay for, but still... Rooms are barely clean enough, completely drab and in dire need of renovation! To make matter worse, during my (one night) stay, the construction site at the station made it impossible to access the hotel by car; so I hope you are not loaded! Needless... More

So I started here a few months ago and gave a 4 star review as my stay was pretty good for the price. This time however, things have gone drastically downhill. The room cost more and I got shoved in an attic room on the top floor. It was boiling and none of the windows would stay open making it... More

We booked the comfort inn for a night away and will never go back. From the minute we got there warning lights were flashing while we waited for 5 minutes for the receptionist to even acknowledge us. Once we got to the room we noticed we were right next to the building site (which there was no warning when we... More

I made one visit, which was OK. The bed was not comfortable but I survived. The linens are sparkling clean and the staff are helpful and friendly. One grouch was the hot water which was only tepid. I was in a different room for a second visit a week later. Again the linen was spotless and the staff friendly. Again... More

There are major building works right outside the hotel that were not mentioned at time of booking so if you are hoping for a lay in don't book here. The hotel is next to New Street Station which was our main reason for booking and is a short walk to shopping restaurants etc. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful,... More

This is easily one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. The walls have water stains on them, the wall paper is peeling away in the corners, the walls are paper thin, the sole chair in the room is also stained, the carpet is old and smelly, the narrow bed (which is barely 3 feet wide) sags, the toilet... Me and my boyfriend have stayed here a few times now and have, after the third time, finally decided to write a review. We were on the third floor this time, right next to the stairs, in room 306. Every time we've been its been lovely. This time we stayed in the Hilton Metropole previously, and actually enjoyed this little... More
