It's the first time that I've come across wrinkled sheets in a hotel!!! I'm guessing they were clean, they looked like it. Bed was comfortable enough (7.5) clean enough (7) shower worked well, I found the folding door awkward/difficult to use, could not close it properly which made for awkward showering. (6.5) tea makings down stairs in breakfast room. Cereal... More

The guest house really was exactly that, a guest house. The house was well placed for access to the airport and had ample parking on the property. Facilities were meagre at best, the tea and coffee making was downstairs so if you wanted a cuppa while watching the TV you had to carry it up two flights of stairs. Breakfast... More

Access by bus from nec was good. Few shops and a bit isolated. The bed was clean but I had to check. The carpet was sticky. The room and dining room dirty. My room lock had been forced at some point. A bit unnerving. Small print states cash only.... but it's pale print and on the last page...not obvious at... More

My husband & I stayed at this B & B for 1 night as we had a Business meeting at the Motorcycle Museum the next day. It wasn't the Ritz but we didn't expect it to be, we didn't pay a lot so got what we needed, a comfy bed an en-suite of sorts seperate toilet to the shower, a... More

Vastly overpriced. Cheap, tatty, old furnishings with what I suspect are fleas in the carpet!. So called continental breakfast an insult. On the plus side travel to the NEC was easy by nearby bus, and there was free WiFi in the room.

The staff were very helpful & friendly. I was running very late & the gentleman was very accomodating & so was the cleaner. Breakfast was help yourself. On the down side the bed was so old & uncomfortable it made my skin crawl. The cleaning was superficial. Behind the beds & furniture was filthy. My room had a very peculiar... More

This place should be reported. Dirty, freezing damp room. No greeting apart from money please and a fast speech about breakfast. The breakfast should NOT be described as "Continental' the dining facilities are disgusting. I was in room 8 and the bed was cold and damp, no heat, in January, -2 outside. Great. No fire plan in the room, dodgy... More

I came here for a few days for work. I was looking forward to a little break from home. When I arrived here I was shown to a room outside which was a shed which had poorly been made into a bedroom. It was absolutely freezing cold even with a heater on when I arrived. I honestly felt like crying... More

No the Charde is not a palace but its somewhere to get your head down for the night if you looking for somewhere cheap. Our stay wasn't as bad as some of the other reviews below but it would have been better if the fire alarm didn't go off at 8am and the owner didn't then stomp around on his... More
