Went on the Young Quakers Engaged with Politics course. Even aside from the course itself, which was an incredible experience, I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! I arrived without a mobile phone charger and a spare was lent to me right away. When I fell ill during my stay, I was given an anti-inflammatory which successfully... More

Woodbrooke is an old building, carefully modernised with all the charm and none of the drawbacks of the original. The rooms are elegant, and well looked-after, and the service is second to none. The food is excellent, with lovely vegetarian options at each meal, and there is tea and coffee on tap at all hours. The dining room looks out... More

Woodbrooke just might be my favourite place to stay in the UK. It's wonderfully tranquil and well connected to public transport. The rooms are simple, clean, and quiet. The staff are remarkably helpful and the food... well, the food deserves it's own separate glowing review. I'm never disappointed with breakfast, lunch, or dinner! They always have a vegetarian option and... More

Hi Erica, Thanks for your glowing review and in particular for your praise of our food. As you say, we do our best to provide vegetarian and vegan options, and to cater to a range of dietary needs – if guests let us know of individual requirements in advance we can make special arrangements for them if necessary. I've had many stays at Woodbrooke over a few years for work purposes. It is a fantastic haven of tranquility - the rooms are very clean and quiet, the staff are friendly, and the (free) wi-fi is super-quick. And the grounds are glorious. Can't recommend highly enough.

We often hear that one of the things Woodbrooke guests particularly love is our garden and we’re glad you’ve been enjoying it. Many thanks for complimenting other elements of your stay as well – I’ll pass your comments onto the staff and our Quaker volunteers. We’re also happy to hear from a regular visitor, and would very much look forward... More

I came to Woodbroke for a work function and absolutely loved it. The food was excellent, and the rooms very comfortable and peaceful. Oh, and the grounds! I had a walk around at dusk and it was simply magical. The staff were exceedingly lovely, and very welcoming. I couldn't recommend Woodbrooke enough.

I booked Woodbrooke for a four day workshop. Best choice ever! I'm a total fan of Woodbrooke, and all the amazing staff and volunteers who were helpful and attentive for the entire time we were there, without being 'in your face'. The food was scrumptious throughout the four days, with the kitchen chefs and staff effortlessly (they made it seem... More

I have visited Woodbrooke regularly over the last 10 years or so; for the day, the weekend and occasionally longer. It is friendly, comfortable, inspiring and just thoroughly good. I have had more inspiring conversations at the dining table in Woodbrooke than anywhere else outside my own family - and the food is great too! It is NOT 'five star',... More

My third visit to Woodbrooke to attend a Quaker meeting and once again a real joy. Tranquil surroundings, lovely food and friendly people. Rooms basic but with everything that you require and there are plenty of facilities on site such as TV rooms and a beautiful library. Peaceful lounges and generally a jig-saw puzzle on the go. Coffee and tea... More

Hi Carolyn We really appreciate your review and your room tip, not to mention your repeat visits. I've just come back from Woodbrooke after a couple of nights by myself to get away and have some time to study. I couldn't fault it, lovely accommodating staff and volunteers, great food (I went full-board), comfortable well-equipped room, real coffee available all day long, nice grounds, good location, reasonable price.... I'm sure I will be back.
