I booked Woodbrooke for a four day workshop. Best choice ever! I'm a total fan of Woodbrooke, and all the amazing staff and volunteers who were helpful and attentive for the entire time we were there, without being 'in your face'. The food was scrumptious throughout the four days, with the kitchen chefs and staff effortlessly (they made it seem... More

I have visited Woodbrooke regularly over the last 10 years or so; for the day, the weekend and occasionally longer. It is friendly, comfortable, inspiring and just thoroughly good. I have had more inspiring conversations at the dining table in Woodbrooke than anywhere else outside my own family - and the food is great too! It is NOT 'five star',... More

My third visit to Woodbrooke to attend a Quaker meeting and once again a real joy. Tranquil surroundings, lovely food and friendly people. Rooms basic but with everything that you require and there are plenty of facilities on site such as TV rooms and a beautiful library. Peaceful lounges and generally a jig-saw puzzle on the go. Coffee and tea... More

Hi Carolyn We really appreciate your review and your room tip, not to mention your repeat visits. Though our bed and breakfast is for Quakers and non-Quakers alike, we are keen that Friends should know they can stay here throughout the year, not just for courses, so thanks for giving us the opportunity to make people aware of this. We’re... More

I've just come back from Woodbrooke after a couple of nights by myself to get away and have some time to study. I couldn't fault it, lovely accommodating staff and volunteers, great food (I went full-board), comfortable well-equipped room, real coffee available all day long, nice grounds, good location, reasonable price.... I'm sure I will be back.

When I arrived at Woodbrooke I had gone through three weeks of hell. My daughter was about to have a biopsy taken from a tumour on her hand at the Royal Orthopedic Hospital just up the road. I had booked into Woodbrook so I could be near to her. We did not know what the tumour was but cancer had... More

Woodbrooke is a fabulous place to stay. The rooms are basic but have everything you need and are spacious with comfortable beds. Each guest has a key card to enter rooms with. There are many little touches which make this a wonderful place to stay, from a wide selection of teas, coffees, etc freely available 24/7, to a warm welcome... More

Woodbrooke offered me, a PhD student from Canada, a peaceful place to rest and study. My room my basic but very clean and provided me with everything I needed, including a desk as study space, tea, coffee and a kettle, and good wi-fi. The meals were delicious and of good value, the staff were friendly and helpful. The grounds are... More

This is just the place to stay overnight after a tiring journey and before a challenging ahead. A spacious room with generous cupboard space, worktable, tea/coffee/chocolate facilities - and a delightful little bookshop where I bought an inspiring book of poems.

We stayed at Woodbrooke over the weekend of January 24th and it was as good as I remembered it - maybe even better thanks to the addition of the garden lounge. The staff were wonderful, the food great, and all that alongside a superb library and those enjoyable gardens. Definitely a great place to stay when visiting Birmingham.

Head and shoulders above other B&Bs. Spotless rooms, beautiful gardens, delicious food, the best staff ever. I've stayed here a number of times, and I always run into interesting people to chat with at meals. Consistent excellence throughout. I can't recommend it highly enough.
