Stayed here night of 14th July I was stuck on very short notice in Bham. This hotel would not have been my first choice. However booking in was quickly accomplished I can't speak for the refurbished rooms but I assume room 121 isn't I could not recomend this room to anyone, outside the window on a flat roof are 2... After reading some of the reviews, I was quite worried about staying in this hotel and although it could have done with a lick of paint, overall I liked it. Plenty of places to park the car; the staff on Reception were lovely and very efficent; we were checked in really quickly. We were on the top floor which had... More

Absolutely terrible hotel. Stayed here for one night on business and could not wait to check out. The rooms are not only in need of renovation but are completely disgusting. Do not stay on the ground floor as the car park is used by the locals to take drugs and play loud music in cars. Avoid this hotel at all... More

Having booked this hotel under 'Quality Hotel Birmingham' and the exterior says the same but the paperwork which I signed was Cobden Hotel. It all seemed confusing, the paperwork which I signed stated that I couldn't drink alcohol and eat food in my room which wasn't brought at the hotel. Plus you can't have guests, as this didn't really affect... More

This hotel was cheap and I suppose you get what you pay for. Stayed just for one night and moved to another Birmingham hotel for my second nights stay in the city. I was in the old part of the hotel which was a long walk from reception. On arrival at my room the white door was in poor condition... More

Cobden (formerly "Quality") is poor, even allowing for the price point. We paid £42 for a standard twin, room only, for one night. Rice and other bits on the carpet didn't create a good first impression of cleanliness if the basics of vacuuming can't be done properly or checked. It was a while since the bathroom tiles and back of... More

Had a 3 night stay when we visited family in Birmingham. On arrival Sam at the reception desk was a delight. She was so friendly, efficient and helpful. She encouraged us to book direct next time and gave us a £5 voucher to use. She gave us a refurbished room on the 1st floor which was a very good size.... More

Great if you like to stand for ages when reception staff stay in at the back. I was on my own and staff had great difficulty in directing me to my room and it was near impossible to follow their directions to the swimming pool. The room was grubby, bath was moulty. Staff at swimming pool and bar were very... More

We booked a 2 night stay commencing 23rd May 2014 via Trivago and paid in advance online. On arrival to the hotel we were greeted with a poor reception from the 2 members of staff who were dealing with check ins. I was asked to register my details and present my payment card which I did. My card was then... More
