After a terrible start to our stay in Birmingham (21st May 2014 ) a lovely cabbie took my friend and I to this lovely hotel. After explaining our predicament to them they not only found us a twin room but couldn't have been more helpful in providing us with accommodation, food information etc. I would like to say a big... Stayed here for T20 final 2014. Before I start the room was a bargain, £48 for a double, plus there was free onsite parking, which is a big bonus. The staff seemed very polite and helpful. The room was very old and tired looking and smelt damp/fusty. The bed was lumpy and very uncomfortable. I doubt I will go back,... More

You pay for what you get and this was a good deal for £40 a night including breakfast. The hotel is worn and needs an injection of TLC but the bed was comfy, sheets clean, bathroom clean with a good shower and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was a buffet and adequate to set you up for the day.... More

I stayed here for one night (thank god!) with my sister-in-law on Saturday 23rd August. I was told i couldnt pay by cash as there was a £50 deposit for cash payments so it would have to be a card payment only. When we got to our room it smelt of burning, as if somebody had left a hair dryer... More

Just home in Ireland following a trip to Birmingham where we stayed at the Cobden Hotel. We were greeted by very pleasant reception staff who allocated our rooms efficiently. We thought that we would never reach the rooms as we seemed to be walking forever...up firstly on a lift to 2nd floor and then down corridors, down ramps, and eventually... More

Firstly I attended a wedding so cannot comment on bedroom facilities. Found the hotel quite easily which can not be said for some taxi services- maybe due to the name change! First impressions very clean and well presented, no signage though for where the wedding reception was being held. Met my friend who was looking to buy a coffee for... More
