I've stayed here previously and would stay again. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom are always very clean. Breakfast is a simple self-serve of cereal, fruit and toast with a choice of juice or a hot drink. The dining area and lounge are good sized rooms. Free wi-fi is available throughout the building. Its only a... More

The hostel was very easy to find, and within walking distance to the station as well, also had a very nice atmosphere within. The staff were very helpful, the rooms were good as well. It was a nice stay. Enjoyed it.

I was surprised to find such a place: welcoming, clean and modern. I highly suggest it for young travelers because of its style, activities and quality-price balance. A good place to find people from different countries not far from the centre :-)

Hi Margaret L, Thanks for the review. It good to see you enjoyed room 218, it is a larger dorm but works well divided into smaller pods, and the curtains on the beds are ideal. It gives you a good balance of privacy and social interaction. Our free food night is always tasty and every week is a different dish,... More

I've stayed here twice: once as a lone traveler and once with my husband and two kids, aged 9 and 10 years. I opted for private en-suite rooms on both occasions: they were small (to be expected at a hostel), but perfectly adequate. Bed, shower, breakfast and free Wi-Fi at a budget price. But what's really great about this place... More

Lovely hostel, very friendly staff. We went up for the Ashes, eight of us in one room for three nights. Having our own en-suite was great, the size of the room was just about big enough (to be expected in a Hostel), location was walking distance to Birmingham New Street station.

I stayed here a few times whilst I was studying and I can honestly say it is a great place to stay. On arrival I was welcomed by two members of staff very down to earth and very approachable . They sorted my room out and directed me to my room, including assuring I had a bottom bunk as I... More

My friend whilst backpacking across Europe from the USA stayed here at short notice. Try finding a place to stay in Birmingham at short notice ? We found the Hatters fairly quickly from New street Station although in a back street we found it reasonably quiet , the staff member on the desk said there weren't many guests at the... More

I stayed on a weekend in a four bed dorm, unfortunately the mens shower was under repair in the dorm. The staff were helpful however and remedied issues and answred questions I had of them. The dorms are a little cramped, but hey that's backpacking. Is in a good location about a 10-15 min walk to the CBD, and close... More

Ideal for a place to crash after a night out. Stayed in a twin room with ensuite. Only problem was the blinds on the windows are very translucent and so the room was bathed in daylight from 4.30am! Breakfast is not continental as advertised, it is cereal and toast. At the end of the day it is a hostel not... More
